Was it just me ? Both sides lacked passion or any skill ! They all seemed to just go through the motions, I left the ground with 5minuets left to play, bored out of my scull, 2nd game ! I don't think so!!!!!!!

I couldn't go as I was going out but watched it on sky + last night and thought the standard was terrible.

I know it was bad conditions but some of the drop ball was terrible. I thought the exiles was very very poor and England wasnt much better.

I wonder how non saints fans enjoyed Langtree park in the rain?

It was played more like a friendly. At one point when Tomkins knocked on several Exiles players patted him on the back in a "hard luck" type of way. Can you imagine that happening in SOO??

I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg

And we cancel the full Super League programme (except the Monday match for Sky!!) for this and they call for the return of Lancashire V Yorkshire matches, just think if down under they had the same attitude as show last night on the Origin Series!

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill):d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40218.jpg

I don't think it is going to work as a fixture because there isn't the rivalry there. Had it been England -v- Hock that would have worked (except for the tiny little number of Wigan fans who turned up). However, a lot of Saints fans didn't know who to cheer for. We cheered when Meli scored his try and when Roby saved one! And most fans were not excited by the England team. McNamara is losing the fans by repeatedly choosing the halfbacks he is choosing along with other ridiculous recruitment options. And then the style of play is so wooden it's unbelievable. Makes Saints look like the most creative, flamboyant team in the land.

I rode over the mountains to Huddersfield. A wilder people I never saw in England. The men, women and children filled the streets and seemed just ready to devour us. John Wesley June 1757:31918.jpg

I thought the standard was poor and the whole thing lacked passion (it didn't mean anything to anyone and it showed). First time at Langtree Park and I think it's a great stadium for watching rugby ... right size, good view of the pitch (from the North stand). Two things that weren't so good some of the walking surfaces were slippery when wet (minor point) the queues, during the first half and at half time were horrendous for buying a beer (20 mins on both occasions) - the infrastructure appears to be there for service to be quicker but the bars were understaffed by people appearing to be on a go slow (major point ... for me anyway icon_biggrin.gifRUNK: )

I know its necessary to find some decent opposition to test the England team against but from a fans point of view it lacks interest.

I watched it on tv, changed channel at half-time to avoid the waffle, and didn't bother turning back. Sped through the 2nd half on Skyplus later doesn't look like I missed much.

I don't know what the answer is really...but we may as well played the French last night.

I don't even understand what we get out of the game tbh when internationals are months away

The best part of the game was during the national anthem. I thought Gareth Carvell was the last man in the line until the camera panned around and showed Rob Burrow hiding behind the 10 year old mascots.

I didn't see that until I got back from the match and watched it back. It was funny!

The build up was good actually and the band and chorus were really lucky that it stayed dry. But everything went downhill once the whistle blew!

Whoever plays the St George mascot is fantastic. He was very entertaining.

Yeah I agree with you. It's a shame that it wasn't a dry night, Exiles clearly wanted to play expansive rugby and it could have been vey entertaining. Hopefully the weather will be better in 3 weeks time and we'll see a better standard of play.

I've always been negative towards McNamara during his time as a super league coach as I didbt think he was a good coach.

However, his time as England coach I'd slightly warmed towards him for some good forward thinking, the exiles concept was his idea and begged all super league clubs to back the concept (which in theory is great idea), he also was the brain behind the knights which again is great idea but last nights team selection turned me against him again!

How can he put Ablett in the centre and not pick Goulding? Goulding and charnley had formed a very good partnership and in all honesty had been the form pairing in super league.

How can he pick rangi chase in the halves before lomax, brough and Danny maguire? Chase has been terrible this year and no way should have been picked.

How can he pick sinfield in the halves before the likes of lomax, brough and maguire? He will never make a out and out halfback as long as he lives.

Where was hill from the wolves? He's been outstanding this year and deserves a shot before any if the props last night.

Who mentioned over mossop? Do you only play with one prop? Do you know that most teams have 4 props in their 17?
