Slick was telling us in the week how good a coach he was. Hmmm. I watched that game tonight with a red face, out of embarassment at the shirt I had on. I counted all but 1 of their tries came from shocking errors from us. It was comical, we need two wingers and a fullback asap. As much as I love Wello for what he's done in the past, he is now a complete liability. He can't tackle and isn't getting into the right positions anymore. Having Ade as his wingman doesn't help of course.

Apart from our truly shambolic showing we saw two of the most ridiculous video ref calls ever. Kyles no try was a stupid decision and you have to admit the Moore try was probably Gansons realisation of his earlier error, the ball didn't go anywhere near the ground.

I can't think of another Saints performance as bad as that ever. If that is the kind of performance level we are going to get now Slick might as well go early and give Purtill a go.

The scoreline truly flattered Saints tonight. Even the heavily Saints-biased Sky crew laid claim to three of your tries (total 18 points) being utterly wrong decisions.

Regarding the Moore try, precedent for this was set not that long ago when Burrow was held up but in a position where you couldn't physically see the ball, and no try was (correctly) given. Tonight you could see the ball, and still the try was given.

The ref gave Saints everything he could, and some things he shouldn't. Salford were superb. And Eastmond? What a mard-, a half-decent referee would have given him a yellow for the back-chat.

Hope Wellens is ok though. Looked nasty. How many times did Gardner get in his way tonight? That last one was one too many...

The disappointment in their voices when it looked like Saints might pinch it was patently obvious!

I agree the scoreline flattered us, though. We were beyond bad.

I think the scoreline reflected Potter's thinking. He probably knew the left side would be terrible, but though feck it, it's only Salford. We scored what, 34 points? And that was without putting together even a half decent move or bit of support play all night.

What turned a more than comfortable win into an embarassing defeat was the inability to deal with kicks. Most of the kicks they scored from were terrible, hit and hopers that should have been easily dealt with.

Yes, yes, but McRae knows we are rubbish at fielding kicks and his players will know that too. Why do you think they kicked at us? They used their brains. We left ours in the changing rooms (if they even made it there).

Always when Salford beat any team the other team had an off day, why for once can you just not congratulate Salford on a great performance!

I already have (see the well done thread on your board that I started).

This is the Saints board though, so we're discussing Saints' performance, which is what we are entitled to do, whether or not we think Salford deserved the win.

Don't worry, everyone loses to one of the lower sides once in a while, look at what happened to us last night.
