If you actually read that article, it's still speculation.

| Still a lot of he said she said stuff.
ie Jamie Lyon to return in 2014.
Mal Meninga to coach etc etc.
I don't think Saints will be overly concerned, Brown has not coached Saints so far and he has a contract for 3 years. Worst case senario we get money for nothing, then go and look again for a coach.

I was quoting the headline, and I agree it is sensationalised just how the Aussie media likes it.

| Clearly all speculation. I don't mind either way, he's clearly committed to securing an NRL job and I don't blame him for that at all.
All I hope is that Saints handle this scenario better than they did with the likes of Eastmond and Jammer announcing they were leaving after months of speculation. Instead of letting it get that far, ensure it's dealt with early so we can move on and don't have to panic.

| if he doesnt want to be at Saints then let him stay in oz...we have all seen with Huddersfield what happens when he is in a job he doesnt want so I would rather have somebody who is committed in there than somebody who is being made to see out their contract

| Is there not a question of the age of the article, given its reference to Peter Gentle who, when I last looked, was the coach at Hull!

| This is very worrying really, even though it's speculation I doubt that the Aussie media would have plucked his name from obscurity. There must be something in this.
I was really looking forward to Brown taking us forward, but I think it's highly unlikely that he'll be here in 2013...sadly.
If he does go, then I have no clue as to who we could go for: maybe take a punt on Daryl Powell? I hope someone like Noble or Kear don't get it.

| John Kear is an absolutely outstanding coach. He always gets the best out of the players at his disposal. Coaches like him would have been better than the likes of Harry Potter and Royce.

| Yes, that's why he's worked his way steadily up from coaching GB to coaching Batley

No, that's because Super League boards have a myopic yearning for Antipodean coaches, irrespective of their CV.
