| From the top of my head Wilkin, Walsh, LMS, Turner and McDonnell are OOC this year. There's probably a couple more but these five inparticular are interesting. Who would everyone like to keep/release if it were up to them?
To start us off:
Walsh - i wouldn't mind him staying for another year if we can get an effective running 6 with him.
Wilkin - despite the stick he gets, i think he leads us around well and i wouldn't mind him staying for another year or two, hopefully playing as a ball-playing 13.
LMS - i'd be tempted to let him go. As good as he can be on his day, i can't help but feel for the money i imagine he's on (England international when he signed and may have signed a new deal since i cannot remember) we could find someone better or will be in a few years.
Turner - similarly to LMS, i feel this is an area we could do better. I don't think either Turner or Peyroux are good enough to be centres for a side that wants to challenge for SL. He has utility value but with Peyroux around next year to cover centre and back row i'd be happy to let JT go and look for a centre who can both attack and defend.
McDonnell - if SMD is happy to stay another year as a back up full-back i'd be happy to have him for another year. I don't think he is good enough in that position to be first choice for a side who wants to challenge for SL, but he is competent back up IMHO. The fullback area could need addressing in 2016 depending on how Lomax goes this year. Also depends on how the young fb in the reserves (Bailey is it?) progresses.

| All depends on what's available to bring in to replace them but if we can I'd replace the lot. None are great players tbh.

| Like St.Pete says, it depends on who we can replace them with.
For example, Joe Mellor is out of contract at Widnes and I'd take him over Walsh any day. But if we couldn't replace Walsh with someone as good/better then I wouldn't be sad to see him stay.
I would love to see us go for Mellor either way, I think he's one of the most underrated players in Super League.
I wouldn't be against an extension to Wilkin personally. He gets a lot of stick at times but more often than not he's an important player in our better performances. I'd like to see us use him at 13 and bring Greenwood back in but that's a different argument.
Turner has turned into a "jack of all trades, master of none" type player. I don't really know what he does anymore and I wouldn't be sad to see him go. He's weak defensively out wide and simply isn't a half back. As an attacking centre he's fine but his defence lets him down.
McDonnell is decent enough as a back up to Lomax and gives his all. As long as he's on a fairly modest salary and is happy to play 2nd fiddle then I'd like to see him stay.
LMS should 100% be released for me. He's been stealing a living and pulling the wool over many peoples eyes for some time now. He's a complete and utter liability, a penalty and error machine and tries to mask this with his constant high fiving and back slapping. A funny, likeable guy off the field but a complete numpty on it.

| Id get shut of them all. Some good money there for better players.
Half back is a hard one for Saints because I feel both Richardson and Fairclough are future england half backs but I would be tempted to go for Mellor because of his pace.
Wilkin is a true servant but his time at a top club has gone. Let him move on to Hull KR.
Mcdonnell and Turner we can replace easily.

| What I'd like to (semi realistically) see:
Lomax
Makinson Percival Turner Swift
Fages Walsh
Walmsley Roby Thompson
Soliola T Sims
Savelio
Peyroux Greenwood Amor Tasi
Owens
Dawson Connor Wellington Grace
Richardson Gilmore
Richards Charnock Haggerty
Davies AN Other
Knowles
IN*: Soliola, T Sims, J Connor, T Gilmore
OUT: LMS, Vea, Wilkin, SMD, Burns
I've erred on the side of caution, there should be enough room in those ins and outs to see another NRL/ top SL quality player in. I'd prefer a prop or a centre (though that would bring into question re-signing Turner).
*In names are just examples I pulled out of the players I know to be ooc

Connor from hudds would be my choice as the backup back pickup for the year
Incoming is a lot harder this year, as zerotackle as stopped their Superleague off contract section

Conner looks decent but can't work out what his best position is.

Playing fullback centre and standoff basically covers us though! It means KC will play him at hooker mind, but thats another story.
Id take Gale or Mellor to replace Walsh quite happily, struggling to think of centres we could bring in to replace Turner though (saying more about the quality available than JT's ability...)

| I think that if we want to step up a level we need to get more out of our better paid players. I suspect that most of the players coming out of contract are on a fair whack and I don't think we're getting value.
Turner: I quite like JT, but I wouldn't offer him a new contract. He's a good centre with ball in hand, but his defence is poor. At stand off he does a decent job but is hardly a long term option. Best to let him go and get in a specialist in one position or the other.
Wilkin: again, I've got plenty of time for Wilkin, but I'm not sure he gives us enough for the doubtless substantial wage he's on.
LMS: a frustrating player. Just too many brainless penalties and moments where he switches off. I'd be surprised if we couldn't get better for the same money.
SMD: he does a good job as a backup, and would be worth keeping if it's at the right price.
It might be tricky to replace all of the first three at once, but if we could I'd go for it.
EDIT: forgot Walsh. Also probably not giving us our money's worth, but good scrum halves aren't easy to come by. I'd see how he gets on for another month or two before making a call.

| I'd keep them all personally. The reason? Because Eamon McManus is a cheap ass who would only replace them with bargain basement signings. There would be no transfer fees, no ambition and certainly no improvement on those players you are planning on cutting.

| Walsh out - Mellor In
Turner out - Connor in
That would be 2 positive moves. Then id look overseas for 2 or 3 players.
I think 2 big second rowers who can offload are musts imo.

| We might be able to replace 1 or 2 players on that list but good players are really in short supply and I'm sure other Superleague clubs will keep hold of the better players so I don't think the availability is there. I think I would look at offloading LMS being more of a liability these days, if Lomax makes a successful return then we could offload SMD, although Burns is not on the list he is becoming surplus to requirements with his below par performances.
