Apparently the 2nds played open entertaining rugby and it was the best performance from a Saints team at Langtree Park. The benefit of having a coach that has a few tears experience being the head coach of a team.

Wigan had less first teamers playing than us. Only ones that've played first team Super League are Oliver Gildart and Lee Mossop. A few others like Gregson, Ganson and Fell have played pre season games.

I watched the tries from the game on Wigan t.v last night and Saints looked a far bigger and better team. Graces' first try was excellent.

Will Richardson, Levy, Wellington be ready for next season.

Tony Suffolk is a strange one, must be getting on for 30 but on trial with us? Got a long term ban last year playing for Rochdale, was going to play lower league in Australia last I heard. Was a cracking amateur player.

It's good to mix it up and have some older heads to guide the kids a bit. Having a reserve league is brilliant, and I hope more SL teams join in.

I agree. When I saw that Wigan had a 17 year old starting hooker and a 16 year old prop on the bench it made me think that the rumours about Bob Beswick returning to Wigan could have some truth in it.

I thought Wigan suffered in the halves due to Shorrocks being injured and Rocky on loan to Cas. This resulted in us having to play Gregson, a second rower, at stand-off.

You didn't really bring in anyone specifically for the reserves did you? Whereas we brought a few older heads in on trial or for the year. Surely that'd be a better idea, or players that have been released in the last few years when they were too old for u19s to see how they've developed. Playing 16 and 17 year olds will surely harm their development unless they're a freak for their age.
