| Just had a look at the Saints website. Obviously you can't tell how sales have gone in the unallocated sections or the standing areas.
But looking at the seated allocated, it's getting down to odd seats left.

| From the look of it the sales are going well for this one.
151 allocated seats left. All odd ones that will be hard to shift.
The unallocated sections are impossible to account for.
Wigan fans seem to be saying their initial allocation 1550 have been selling ok too.

| It'll be disappointing if this game doesn't sell out, it usually does for the Good Friday game or comes pretty close.

| Saints announced on Twitter earlier this week that at the time of posting there were 300 tickets left for the West Stand.
I have my ticket.

| The west stand selling out will now get people buying tickets for seats and coming into the west to be with mates? #sardines

| But you can't walk around. They stopped that within weeks of the opening as they had that exact problem.

| Well I'll stand corrected, but every time I've been the barriers have been shut and people on the barriers to stop people going across.
I know the idea was originally for people to be able to walk all around but they had people moving about.

| It's weird, there are barriers up but only between certain stands. You can't get to the West from the North, but can get from the South to the West.

They are both seated stands so that doesn't matter. It was people coming from the seated stands and cramming out the West, where it is nigh on impossible to check on numbers, that resulted in the closure off of the concourse. Shame, as being able to walk to another bar would have been very helpful as the west stand bar has been a nightmare ever since the stadium opened (although they have now started serving at the second west stand bar as well, which seems to help).

It's always been a gripe of mine. An issue overshadowed by the cladding of course. For me it was another elf and safety over reaction when a few mindless individuals wanted to escape from the North stand to get in the West at the opening game against Salford I think it was.
I don't think it is unmanageable to check tickets when people are entering the terraced stands but we took the lazier option of putting barriers up which ruined the original idea of free movement around the concourse.

| The question there is how people would react to having their tickets checked again and again every time they re-enter a stand.
If you are a season ticket holder, you probably carry it, if like me you pay on the day, once inside I've been know to bin it, or lose it.
What if a family go and like mine the chief holds all the season tickets, it's the whole issue of challenging people and what happens if they can't prove.
It's best to have a simple rule as discretionary rules where some stewards would be by the book others less so would lead to problems.
Closing the gates is the only realistic option, unless you were going to turnstyle the stands themselves, but that would be
a) expensive
b) a true H&S nightmare if a quick evac was needed.
No other modern sporting venues allow un governed movement between stands and whilst it was a noble idea, in the end those who decided to move spoiled that dead.
But I am surprised you can get between south and West. I wonder if that's because of the family stand area.
