What a game! Obviously I wish we'd have won but that's a proper advert for the game and I for one are proud of all the saints players for that effort.

On his recent form I wouldn't move Hohaia away from 6 he's shown some of what we wanted from him of late IMO.

I thought that was a tremendously brave performance all round, but Lance didn't look anything like a 6 to me tonight. I thought he was much better when he went to hooker, though.

I'm going to ignore the Lance question as I'm sure a whole new thread will start about the difference in his play from last week to this.

However as a team we defended amazingly last night.

I know people are looking at kicks as a let down, but actually I feel it was our respect for the ball that lost us the game. We gave over so much ball in our own half or just over the halfway it was difficult for us to put pressure on the Leeds line.

I'm not sure we had a set of six in the Leeds half that we completed in the first half last night. We had opportunities to build pressure and I think if we had done that it would have been our day.

But rightly it was a great playoff game, not sure what it was like for the TV audience with so much defense on display. But to run Leeds so close, with no halves is a credit to the effort the Saints lads put in.

Glad to see you are proud of your teams efforts they defended with venom ,quality and desperation worthy of any final.
For me Roby is still the best 9 around over here and with Lomax fit you have a real quality threat from FB.
Also great turn out by your fans and it will be interesting to see the 2014 version of ST's with the new 7 and co.

Saints looking very good for next season IMO with a decent 7.

I think the drop goal was typical of the difference. We shut down Sinfield from the marker, but he just shuffled it to the next man (maguire) who could also take a drop goal.

I thought if it got to drop goals we were going to struggle as Leeds have 3 people who could take a pop, we would struggle to have one.

Proud of the effort. That effort with better execution will see us go a lot better next year.

Lance has played pretty well at hooker over recent weeks. He's pretty dangerous from acting half and teams back off him creating more space.

If we do keep lance, I think the only role he can play is coming off the bench to spell Robes. If there the case then IMO wello can't be in the 17 at all as we no way can have both them on the bench.

I guess the benefit of playing with 2 halfbacks ......

We just have to hope we can find a 6 from somewhere or Wheeler pays a visit to Lourdes

In a way although we lost, that game has rescued our season. When you think back of the first 4 games against our last couple of games, we should be in good shape for next year.
