Yeah, as mentioned he's ambitious and wants to join a top 4 team, not a team below his current side in both league placings and ambition.

I would have thought Hull was more likely. They tried to sign him twice previously I believe.

A talented player, but one who plays in the position that is at the bottom of our priority list.

I would rather have him than Laffranchi (and Tony Clubb for that matter), we should not let the short term issues the club has cloud long term goals. He is a good player that would add a lot, if we could sign him as well as a stand off and a couple of props that would be good.

As usual the question is the transfer fee. I do not see why the club is again them. For example, if Laffranchi is on £120k pa and Whitehead is on £100 pa but we keep him for 10 years then surely he is worth a 200k transfer fee given that he is a better player.

But Laffranchi was signed to play prop. He needs to be replaced with a prop. Whitehead is good, but signing him would mean not being able to sign someone else. Given that we need strengthening in at least three other positions it would be crazy to spend cap money on a position where we already have a selection of quality established players and up and coming youngsters.

Whitehead got 4 years left on is bulls deal so the want about 75 grand for him which we wouldnt pay a transfer fee he end up at Huddersfield
