| Given the notice and lack of game time this season thought he did very well. Not roby but a decent deputy

Did okay but clearly a very limited player. Distribution was fine.

| He was ok, but got sucked in for the 2nd try I think it was.
In the end Flanagan was just as good at dummy half. We did not need a hooker, we needed a halfback.
Also we missed Lomax at FB. There was less speed running at the opposition and a lack of organising the defensive line that Lomax does so well.
Makinson did ok, but not in Lomax's class.

Makinson suffers greatly from being dropped into positions without time to prepare. Lomax to fullback was agreed in the off season so he will have had lots of time to prepare.
If Gardner is out injured again I expect to see Makinson back on the wing. I do hope if that's the case that Percy is played inside of him. I'm dying to see that as a wing/centre combo!

| Thought Howarth had a pretty decent game to be honest especially as it was a debut game. he has a good pass technique throws the ball out wide missing out players for a quick attack on the fringes.
If he improves which I imagine he will when he gets familiar with the team, then I think he will be a good attribute,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, perhaps McManus and Brown have got this one right with Howarth, time will tell.

No he clearly isn't, jeez man get a grip he only joined you two days ago give him a chance - some fans are genuinely mental.

| I hope we don't put Percival on the wing again, it pushed one of our better threats to far out wide to have an impact.
I'd have maybe reshuffled Turner to half, wellens to FB, Makinson to wing when Ade went off. Jones to Turners slot. But we were runnning out of troops.

| I thought he had a pretty good game, he put in some good tackles and his distribution was alright.

| His distribution was decent and I thought he did well. He only had one training session with us!
If he continues to do a job over the next few weeks, then I think he could be much needed back up for Roby.

| He did well. He takes his time getting rid of the ball, but his distribution was accurate and he worked hard.

| Different sort of player to Roby. Howarth is never going rip a defence apart with his running, and Roby is a dynamo in defence. But I think Howarth's distribution is actually better. He's more an old-style dummy half (reminded me a little bit of Lowes)

| When at dummy half he seemed to opt for playing the ball on the blind side an awful lot, and it rarely looked like the right decision.

| I did think he looked a little slow getting the ball out. I thought a few times he was going to get caught with the ball. But I did not want to be too critical as it was his first outing and I did not want it to turn into a pro-Gaskell Anti Howarth campaign.
With one day in the team we could not expect a lot.
