Scholarship as changed this year with it just being U16's and no more U15 fixtures. This means that alot of the new intakes will not get a game this year unfortunately.
We played our first game the other week vs Widnes and won 50-6

Ricky Bailey really excites me we beat off competition from a number of clubs to get him after he represented England despite playing for the Midlands service area. He looks a real handfull, other top juniors to look for include....

Lewis Fairhurst - England Utillity
Jake Campbell - England Prop
Aaron Smith - England u16's - Hooker
Liam Cooper - England u16's Second Row
Josh Ganson - Hooker
Josh Eaves - Scrum Half/Stand off
Ill keep this thread to update youth signings (intake) and matches if thats ok.
PS. Ill only mention names once they get signed up at u15 level but there is a superstar in the making knocking around from St Helens, already at his age his got clubs getting into the lads ear. Will be a hard task for Saints get him signed up but hopefully we can with him being a Saints fan. |

Any chance this can be made a sticky? It's always nice to knoww what's going on at youth levels and see who progresses up the ladder, an area which generally is overlooked by club media releases.

I'm surprised no one has picked up Charlie Robinson from the Midlands side. Wigan have Conor Adams and Saints Ricky Bailey.
Adams and Bailey have also had trials with England RU.
Robinson and Adams are in the England RL squad.

It's stupid.
This years U17's are struggling to get a game in the U19's.
The U15's will struggle to get a game in the U16's.
If they go back to U18's next year it will mean that the U18 (current U17) will have lost a years rugby. |

Charley Robinson is your typicall barrell RU prop. He loves union and from what ive heard, his been selected for England RU so i dont think he'll be playing league much longer. |

It's baffling isent it. Big difference from u15 to u16 imo so like you say most wont probably play for Saints untill next year, which is a real waste. |

He's also got a very good offload, but as you say he will probably end up playing Union. Hayden Freeman also looks impressive, but understandably a bit raw. |

I may be biased (as a coach at u15's level) but the crop of youngsters coming through at u15's age group is regarded across the board as one of the strongest age groups the NW has seen in many years. There are a number of players to look out for, certainly next season as they take the mantle as the older age group and its certainly an exciting future for the club if the players continue to develop.

On bank holiday Monday the U16's are taking the place of the U19's and playing leeds in the game before the first team. Last year Leeds won 19-18 so it should hopefully be a cracker although I don't think the England lads can play as they're playing France that weekend.
