| Matty is a good player and will do well for them but he'll also frustrate the hell out of them at times with his passing?

| He plays his role in the Smith - Holdsworth - Pattan link very effectively. I'm sure he'll do the same with Finch and Tomkins.
No world beater, but a good team player and pretty decent defender for a half back to boot.

| Smacks of desperation on the part of both Wigan and Salford. Salford are desperate for funds and Wigan because of the Tommy injury. Smith will be cup-tied anyway so they will have to play someone else there in that game/s. I thought their young ones were the Bees Knees surely now would have been a good time to blood one or two more until the end of the season.

| A good signing in that he's the best half on the market going to a club that desperately needs a half for next season. The timing though smacks of desperation to me - maybe Lulu's injury is worse than being reported and he might not be ready for the playoffs as it doesn't make a lot of sense otherwise. Unless they are really, really desperate to make sure of reclaiming the hubcab...

Sam Powell has just made his comeback after breaking his leg v Warrington U20's in March. He managed to get half a game v Bradford last Saturday)
The two England U18 half backs Hampsire and Williams are outstanding PROSPECTS. However they are straight out of last years U16 team (ie only 17 years of age and first year U18's)
Add to that they are both due to fly out with England U18's to Australia in two weeks time, and I wouldn't want to deny them that opportunity, but besides that they are not ready yet for 1st team rugby.
The time to give them a go is when we have a near to full strength team available to help them out.
Hampshire did very well to finish 4th in the fastest man comp last week, despite his age and he is a stand off, not a winger.

| Superleague is no place for a 17 year old (physically). You get the odd freak who can manage it young, but even then, there's a huge difference between 17, 18 and then 19 years old.

| Good deal for Salford, they are an outside bet at best for getting in the playoffs. If they can get some cash of the wigan cash cow, then good on them.
Surprising that Wigan are not at full cap???

Amos Roberts left earlier in the season (retired) so his salary was still available.
