Congrats on the win. Couldn't make it tonight but sounded a cracker.

For all the criticism of Lance, it was noticeable that we looked completely lost once things started to turn against us. For me thats the lack of experience that Lomaskell have.

Lance hasnt been great, but he has steadied the ship in the halves when required.

It will be interesting going forward though as it looks like Lomax will be out for some time with that injury. So we may end up with Lance and Gaskell in the halves or maybe Lance and Wheeler.

We were clueless for large parts of the match, but winning like that sometimes feels better than a walkover.

And with the Pies and Dire losing, we'll have much worse nights than tonight.

Presumably people have forgotten the absolute tonking Wigan gave us at Magic weekend or how we almost gave Widnes the game in the Challenge Cup? On both those occasions Hohaia and Lomax were our halfbacks and Robes was playing, so tonight had nothing whatsoever to do with Lomaskell.

We have had these kinds of matches all season. Thankfully, tonight we managed to win this one, just as we did the Widnes one. We scratched a draw at Hull KR and lost heavily at Wigan. It's just the team we are; as a team.

It was a similar game to the Catalan one where the ref and his penalty award was having a big influence on momentum.
Very dissapointed in our slack defence in the middle, bit of an akward game for Gaskell offered very little other than a kicking deep game.

I honestly thought Gaskell had gone off in the second half.it was only when he kicked it I realised he was still on. He's a talent but I've seen him have much better games than tonight.

I think he did fine given it was his first senior team 80 minutes since about February. He's lost out on a lot while kicking his heels in the u20s, learning that trade of his apparently.

He'll have to learn to play with Hohaia now as Lomax didn't look good at all.

Fine Lance adds experience to our game, but 1 man changing should not collapse the defence of an entire team.

Yep. It would have helped if our forwards hadn't been bullied off the park at times as well. Oh for some aggressive forwards who could make space for our halves to do their stuff instead of relying on the backs to do the work of the forwards.

Either way we gain a bit of ground on those above and put some distance between us and those below. We are now within 3 of Warrington. Hard to believe isn't it.

I think it's games like tonight makes it stick out like a sore thumb that perry and Laffranchi struggle against big aggressive packs.

Perry for me is rubbish, he had a ok second spell and Laffranchi can cope with the less aggressive packs but when he comes up against a big pack he struggles, he's just a good backrow doing a ok job at prop.

and we still have to play Warrington and Catalans too
