| Hi guys.
I'm a Huddersfield fan and have seen Tommy Makinson play a couple of times on sky and have been really impressed by him.
The try in the grand final was amazing from a lad who was a make shift full back after wellens went off injured.
Brilliant pick up on friday to score the try.
Just wondering what all the saints fans think of him?

| Absolutely excellent, one of my favourites along with Lomax and Roby. Think he has great talent and has adjusted to playing on the wing very well.

| I think he'll be ruined by the club within 18 months or leave.
He should be playing fullback every week but the club has issues with sentimentality and has terrible recruitment so we'll probably never see him play there.

| Great potential and showing a lot of heart and skills now, which is more than can be said for the senior players. Contender for Young Player of the Year if he continues in this form.

I'm glad you mentioned heart as he's full of heart. Don't get me wring he's got great talent as well but his heart takes him a step above.
IMO could be the best on our young bunch.

His tackling is top class but my only negative of him at the moment is he gets drawn in in defense but that could also be to do with our defence being all over the place.

How true that is,we seem to be compressed in the middle and when teams throw the ball out wide we are not sliding over quick enough, leaving the winger looking a right prat as they are left 2 on 1,they are pretty much helpless then if they go in they are slated for doing that,if they go out they are slated for that as well, there seems a lack of communication all accross the defence.Having the same centre/wing partnerships week in week out would help a bit,but the defence as a whole needs sorting.

It beats me how you are always so positive!

| If I was a teenager, Tommy Makinson would be my hero.
As it is I left teenhood behind some time ago and so I can only look upon him as a young guy with oodles of talent and great attitude. He tackles with courage, conviction and skill. He reads a game well. He puts on some great spontaneous plays - the classic so far being the best try of the 2011 GF in my view. He is secure with the ball, no matter which direction it comes from, and seems to be fearless when jumping for a bomb. He has great pace and a neat step. All that is wrapped up in probably one of if not the best attitude in the whole of the Saints team. He never whinges or stamps his foot. He never gives in. He has a winner's attitude that I wish most of the rest of the team would adopt. He could be a real game changer of the future, just indeed as he was in the 2011 GF.
The only mistake I've seen him make since the early weeks of his first team career is the occasional drift inside but I have yet to see a single winger who doesn't fall for that temptation occasionally.
I think he is looking like our best young talent and yet he hardly ever gets a mention in dispatches.

The is no doubting his ability as he's got everything to be a top class player but his attitude which sets him a class above the rest. He has a never die attitude and big heart.
He's got the same mentality as sam tomkins and that is a great thing to have.

| As i said ive seen him play a couple of times and he looks a good prospect not just for saints but for england in the future. Do you saints fans feel he should replace wellens at fullback when wellens hangs up the boots?

No, he should have replaced Wellens a year ago.

Not really... 99% think he should be there now! He was tearing Wides apart pre season.
Someone in the Wigan youth set up needs shooting for letting him go. I can deal with him diving in now and then as he's not a winger. Probably the best of our youngsters along with Wheeler but is a year younger with a physique you could pack real size on in time. We need to get him on a 5 year contract asap I think. I can see him earning an international call up this year. He looks like he's put the effort in over the off season.
