| Very proud of saints tonight, great performances across the park, the young players in particular did well. Sad to lose but not disheartened. The future is very bright for saints

| You've every right to be proud. Thought Saints were fantastic tonight and the game, in my opinion changed on the injury to Shenton, after which the Rhinos attacked that wing with plenty of ammunition.
Keep your spirits up, both teams weren't fancied this year, and both put the so called top dogs on their @rses.
Great final, two great teams and both with plenty of youth and promise on show.

Are you serious? I'm very disappointed. Leeds were by far the better team and deserved there win.

Nice words and congratulations on being champions again.
I thought the injury to shenton changed the game. Leeds targeted us on that side soon as shenton went off and took full advantage.
Your defence was awesome tho and IMO prob just shaded it.

Don't be silly. With 20 to go we were two scores up and completely bossing the game. We had absolutely dominated the second half. Then under no pressure at all we lost Shenton. Having already lost Wello the disruption was too much and Leeds exploited it superbly.
Burrow was sensational today and Leeds defended brilliantly. They are a great side.
But if Shenton doesn't break /dislocate his arm we win.

We didn't settle quick enough after losing shenton and they hit us as we tried to sort the problem out.
I thought it was even game but IMO Leeds just shaded it. They was rye better team in the first half and then firth last 15 mins.

I agree 100%
I actually felt for saints tonight, like you say above saints were well in control of the game whilst holding an 8pt lead and Leeds look beaten, you could see some of their players heads had dropped.
All the momentum was with Saints at that point then 2 things happened, after already losing Paul Wellens you then lost Michael Shenton. That was a massive blow, its no coincedence that Leeds had only crossed your line once up and till that point then when you lost Shenton they opened you up fairly easily. They scored one of the tries where Shenton would have been, you could argue that 2 of them were in the area that the solid looking Shenton would have been.
That was because of the disruption of you to move players around to fill the gaps left by Wellens and Shenton plus i think you were carrying a few other knocks, you only had 2 rotations left with 15 mins to go.
The other thing that changed the momentum was Scott Moore's brain explosion, your holding Leeds well in their own half and then Scott Moore gives Leeds a relieving penalty with a reckless high shot that he had no need to do.

| I have mixed feelings about the whole affair. I suspected that lack of experience would be a problem so the result was not surprising. The kids have done more than expected and sometimes it takes a hurtful defeat or two to turn youngsters into winners.
With some good players coming into the club and the juniors being one season wiser we are ideally placed for the next campaign.
I give credit to Leeds. But as a barometer for the state of the game this match is depressing. Burrow, McGuire, Sinfield etc. have been outstanding in SL for several years without ever so much as causing the Australians to raise an eyebrow. It's like we're back in the bleak days of the seventies.

| The inexperience in Gaskell today was a problem. I'm not knocking him but at times chose the wrong options and his kicking game was dire but he'll learn and it will come from experience.
Tommy makinson is a star in the making. I really rate tommy very highly!

| Extremely proud of the lads tonight. Never thought in a million years we would get anywhere near the Grand Final with all the injuries we have had throughout the season and playing away from home all season too. Tommy Makinson take a bow lad, bloody fantastic, we will be seeing more of you!!!!!!! WELL DONE SAINTS 2011, roll on 2012.

| Thought Royce summed it up fairly well in that we were playing not to lose instead of playing to win in the 1st half, but I thought the Leeds defense was outstanding near there own line.
Second half we were dominating until the injuries piled up, Lomax limping badly the last 10 mins.
So we lost another grand final, disappointed yes, but if we get to another grand final next year I will still be there win or lose.

That was definitely the case but Leeds played exceptionally well in the first half. We couldn't get to grips with their speed at the PTB and when we did in the second half we came into it.
We played very well in the second half until that needless Moore penalty but overall I thought the quality of the game was very good and certainly one of the best Grand Finals there's been so I'm pleased everybody got to see a great game. Some of the rugby that Leeds played was brilliant and they are worthy champions on the back of what happened at Old Trafford. I don't think any other team would have beaten us tonight which is more a statement about the quality of Leeds adventure than it is about any other team.

yes im very proud of the club who have had to deal with major disruption all season due to 1st. team injuries , on top of playing all our "home" games AWAY at Widnes [ thanks Vikings].
I thank all the fans of other clubs who recognise the hardships Saints have had this year and who have congratulated Saints on the 6 th final in a row, in spite of a record 5th loss. that is apart from the scum who we soundly beat twice to reach this historical 6th final who took great pleasure in ridiculing Saints on the loss ! I can only look forward to 2012 in our new stadium [ all ours] with a youthfull squad and say bring it on .
