Just watching the game back, I see that Briers is still being allowed the referee the game despite not being captain. Even having a personal conversation telling him that 'Saints are offside all the time', amaing how Silverwood puts up with certain players questioning his integrity and not others.

Briers is a better ref than Silverwood will ever be

1. saints were offside a lot of the time, every kick off saints had graham was offside (advantage of side view on half way line) but so was wire a lot of time.
2. briers reffing the game how about graham or wellens or any player in a white shirt? not literally but there was a lot today.
just like to say what a great game for Rl on sky best game for wire this season for me it had everything great performance by you guys today puletua and roby immense could of gone either way.

He's certainly a better ref than Jammer will ever be.

I thought Briers got most of the major decisions right, he's a strong ref who takes control of the game from the start much like Steve Ganson, Henry Paul or Iestyn Harris.

It's a measure of the stature and respect he holds in the game, no Saints player would get away with the things Briers does - FACT. Now that Long, Scully and KC have gone there is nobody in the Saints team who has the same status as a great of the game as Briers.
