Michael Shenton (Castleford) to St Helens
The young Tigers star is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, and sources suggest that he could be on his way out of the club to join St Helens who are prepared to offer a great deal to the West Yorkshire centre. Could he be replacing Matt Gidley when he retires at the end of the campaign?
Josh Perry (Canterbury) to St Helens
According to the Australian Daily Telegraph, St Helens are hot favourites to land the Sea Eagles prop forward on a 3-year deal following a break down in a new contract with his current club Manly.

| This isn't your source again is it, Mr M?
I hope Shenton stays with Cas.
Another prop would be a good idea though. We need one of those and as yet we don't have any local talent ready to plug the gap.

| I like Shenton. He'd make an excellent addition to our backline. But we certainly shouldn't get involved in some madcap Dutch auction with Wigan (or Leeds) over him. If he wants silly money let a silly club pay it.

Gotcha from the Leeds board said he was talking to some cas players socially like and they said shenton to Leeds was nailed on? but we have all heard this stuff before. If it's silly money shenton wants it won't be at Leeds knowing how gh is with players and the cap.

| I have to say, I'd be over the moon if we pulled off deals for Perry and Shenton.

I do too. But Cas raised him and it would be a shame if he left there.

| We'll never get Shenton, it's not realistic. Wigan, Warrington, Leeds are always going to be ahead of us if they have cap room and Wigan and Leeds certainly do and both need centres for next season.

Leeds have space on the cap to sign another centre? Christ, they said they would struggle to fit Lee Smith in, so I hope they aren't going to go down the Melbourne route.

nope new contract to be announced soon. senior is still arguably the best centre in sl. obviously some people will say others but really who is the stand out candidate? Maybe matt king who is playing on the wing who was turd until the back end of last season? I agree Leeds need to intergrate a young centre like shenton into the breach or sign a marque nrl centre as keith moves into the coaching staff ala deacs.

do a bit of research before you post ey mate? Leeds will be freeing up cap space with senior on a reduced deal, probably leaving are buderus, donald, rumoured to be leaving are bailey, Eastwood and Ali!
you could get a marque prop, a marque centre and a marque backrower or 2 with the cash from that lot. But obviously they probably won't all go but you can see where viable room can be made. there is perhaps 500 to 600 grand in cap space there

| Yup, some interesting times ahead. Wigan, Saints and Leeds all have massive spending power given the potential departures due to players being off contract this year.

Indeed but we also have the added twist of Aussies/kiwis facing the reality of a weak pound and the county been crap and about to get a whole lot worse if camron and his goose stepping pals get in. England is not as appealing as it once was. Aussie is one of a few countries not have a crisis!
for what it's worth I can't see perry coming to sl just as he makes the step up to rep footy? but the sl is the only place a prop could get top wedge. very few props are well payed in the nrl, props and wingers get the scraps contract wise. so you never know, but I can't see it.
