Our away fixture at Quins is a double header with Harlequins RU facing Leeds before our fixture against Quins RL.
Tickets are £25 for both games. If you just want to watch Saints its ............er £25.
What a rip off ! I wouldnt watch the RU if it was in my back garden ! What a con you have to pay for a game you have no intention of watching. The Official Club site says tickets are for both games yet the official club coaches will not arrive in time for the first game !

| A group of us have just cancelled our accommodation at Watford, going to Dublin instead. We don,t like being ripped off monetary and ethically....................I think Harlequins are shooting themselves in the foot if they are treating away league fans in this manner.

| OK.....I am not going to appologise for the situation surrounding this game and those that have seen my many posts regarding the way the club is run can tell you I am no fan of the current situation at Twickenham Stoop, but I will say this.
St Helens fans have not been singled out for this attention. The fact is, the Union lot own the ground and they had to reschedule the Leeds game. Therefore, Quins RL have a need to keep their landlords sweet and agreed to the double header. I very much doubt, that given the opportunity to pi55 off away fans we thought it would be a good idea to chose the second biggest draw (traditionally) in London.
Next up, the club have to concede that there are 14,500 regular Union fans who will want to see the Leeds game and therefore the ticketing needs to be consistent with what these fans pay. Therefore, ( IMO) it was decided than rather deal with a set of 14k fans leaving moving against a set of say 5,000 arriving would present a Health and Safety + logistical nightmare. So, they have decided to offer both games at the knock-down price of £25 rather than £40 for the two individually.
I fully understand that Saints fans are pi55ed off. Believe me, I stirred up a 5hit storm last year when Sky shafted us by moving the game in France and I know that it might feel like you are being victamised, but you are not. Simple financial constraints placed on the club by the Union lot and the bad weather that caused the original leeds game to be cancelled have caused this......and I am sure the club are not impressed either.
It is not a money making excercise by Harlequins Rugby League, but an accommodation that had to be made. I really hope that those Saints fans who now don't make the trip down still consider coming back next year......you really are a good laugh and I always enjoyed drinking with you before and after the games.
Good luck for the rest of the season (except the double header of course)

| i hope no saints fans go to the game, why would anyone want to sit there and watch people kicking a ball about for 80mins, i couldn't think of anything worse what an awful game. Also if it rains, just imagine the state of the pitch, ours being the second game players could easily get injured.

| I hope Harlequins just fold to be honest. They're doing nothing in helping our great game move forward.
Even their u20's are getting batterd left, right and centre this season. The London based players coming thru are simply not good enough.
Get them out!!!!!!!!!

Well said. Oh and while we're at it, we will take SKY with us....
Londons SL team was never about crowds...it was about development and the youngsters you refer to, if you mean the likes of LMS and Clubb, were 10 yrs old when SL started.......they are now international players (if not international standard at the moment). The Club itself has the lowest number of overseas players in SL and is resonsible for over 20,000 youngsters playing the game down here.....
Again, sorry if the double header causes financial strife and I wouldn't blame anyone for just not going TBH....but posters like Loyal Saint here need to look at a much bigger picture rather than the M62 Corridor.......unless you want League to lose players like your young Kyle E to Rugby Union....who continue to dominate the codes internationally and financially. The money being thrown around by the French clubs at the moment would be enough to to tempt any league player.....and until the game expands and becomes truly national, it will never be able to compete internationally....and therefore remain a minority sport.

| There is two hours between the games therefore logistics and safety issues is a red herring. IMHO it has only been done to massage the poor attendance figures of Quins RL and claiming 14500 will bring the averages up from zero to hero!!
Well We will watch it on Sky and every other year from now on.

I agree....100% I agree and I have been shot down in flames by the Quins faithful for pointing this out. A 14k gate will add 1k to the average.........and fool only the RFL. I can see Salford salivating over this one....if it comes down to QRL having a better average this year.....but guess what, nothing can be done about it.
14,000 walking 1 way whilst a max of 5k walking the other isn't going to please the residents of TW2 and if they turned down pavaroti for a gig at RUHQ......they aren't going to allow this.
Sorry that you have decided to boycot games down here now, but that's your choice.

| Please complain to our club about this rather than complaining about it on here (feel free to do both, but ensure the club know your feelings). I will be doing so.

I am sorry. I understand you're a passionate supporter and it is you who will suffer if your club no longer exists. However it is very true that your club offer nothing to our competition.
LMS and Clubb are turning into vastly overated players imo. They have both gone backwards.

So Sky only film because Bronquins are in it???
It will never be an exspansion sport, because its passion in play and support come from its roots, That aint London or norfolk or devon or Lincolnshire. Why??? cos they didnt play rugby when the rugby league was formed, by all means try to expand and educate people in other areas, but when do we give up on exspantion realising its not working and support the traditional clubs???

I disagree. They are investing in the community around London, along with Skolars. The amateur game in London is spreading and has never looked healthier. So they are doing a lot for 'our great game'.
I think people on here are really over-reacting. It's embarrassing.
