| Despite him piling shame on himself and the club, at least he hasn't contested the charge.

| That's the last we will see of pan face. Can't say i feel sorry for him 1 little bit.
The thug has got what was coming to him. He should have been banned for his thugish antics on the pitch.
He is and always will be a cock!

| Glad he's confessed. That makes things less messy. I can't say I'm sorry to see him go. Not only is he a thug but he's also a cheat and I hope this is the last we see of him. I just feel sorry for his family.
I wonder if we'll see any shrinking rugby players this season?
As an aside, has anyone else noticed the coincidence between what Paul Cullen said on Boots n All about growth hormone and the players' ignorance and this confession from Newton? If there are any other players out there taking the risk he took, I do hope they have taken note and are adjusting their lifestyles accordingly. I'd hate for the 'tip of the iceberg' feeling Cullen has to be true as that will not do the sport any good whatsoever.

| Just seen people giving him praise for being honest about taking it!! He took drugs to cheat!! how can anyone praise him for being honest?
He has always been a bad advert for the game. The game will be a lot better without him.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Taking growth hormone?
Did nobody suss on when he was beating people up by holding their arms out with his and then punching them with his 3rd arm?

It will be interesting to see if any players suddenly lose a large amount of strength during the season. I'm guessing that it used to be a regular thing before the off-season testing came into place, with players bulking up and then ditching the gear once the season starts (I'm only speculating here by the way). Maybe this is what Cullen is referring to.

I recall seeing a prop many years ago gain about 4stone in the off season. I seen this guy play in last game of the season before he joined up with a big super league club.
He was then on sky for 1st game of the season playing for his new club. No way he went that big and strong in the few months of the off season.
You would have to be pretty thick to think this sort of thing isn't common in our game.

| Good on him for confessing. It minimises the press speculation and prevents the hype from being built up.
But what is a 31 year old veteran of the game doing taking growth hormones? Unless he's used them throughout his career I can't what good using them in the twilight of his career would do.
If it is as widespread as thought, why aren't more players caught?

Not enough testing to catch them all?
Who knows whether it's widespread or not. There just isn't the information available to know for certain one way or the other I would imagine.
