Nah, if he can get fit for the business end of the season he'll be a real bonus.
Whether he will or not, I don't know. But no point getting rid when we may need him later on.

| Who's place is he going to take going into the playoffs?
Be a great kick in the balls to either Clough or Hargreaves if one of them gets dropped. Cayless does not deserve a team in the first 17. He is finished!

A fit Cayless will be better than Clough and Hargreaves, hope he gets back on form he will be a big bonus at the end of the season.

If cayless gets back and is fit he will walk back into the team. When he is fit he is a world class prop.
Would be great to see cayless, KC and graham in front row.

He hasent been world class for 2 years. Every time he plays he is bandaged up to the eye balls.

Very true but if we can just get him fit it would make massive impact because he is top class prop and that would take hell of a lot pressure off jammer

| At the end of the day any decision on Cayless will be made in the light of one or more physicians' reports. If they think his poor form is the result of some chronic and serious injury I'm sure he'll go.

Boy am I glad I dont work for you, I've been off for 18months with both chronic and serious illness but my employer (up to now) has kept my job open for me.

Good for you. But surely you would not condone re-signing Cayless on a lengthy and expensive contract if you knew it was physically impossible for him to achieve what he did two or three years ago?

| 2007 he had a big injury, came back in the team during the end of season run in and looked unfit and out of form.
Same happened in 2008.
2006 he was one of the best props in the country - unfortunately, he hasn't shown that form since. I, for one, will be very disappointed if he automatically gets a place in the 17 when he gets back to fitness.
I'll be shocked, and confused if he's at the club next season...no fault of his own, he's a brilliant player and a top guy, but unfortunately his body has let him down too much over the past 24 months.

| It may just be he's been unlucky with a number of injuries and, with the right treatment and recovery, stands an excellent chance of returning to full fitness and form. If the medical people say that's the case I don't mind taking a punt on an extension - but the medical evidence would have to be overwhelming.

IMO that would be a huge risk, he will be on a big wedge, i think we can use that money better elsewhere
