Any truth in the rumour that Saints have signed a Forward from Widnes?.

Only one i'd have is Gerrard but he's just re-signed with em? Hep Cahill is a good un but we have enough cover for 2nd row.

Dave Allen was strongly rumoured on the Widnes board a while back but that one would surprise me.

Dave Allen would be a very underwhelming signing. Gerrard might be a very good addition, though. When that rumour cam e up, the Widnes fans were very complimentary of him.

No I don't think so, he has been playing 2nd row.

Gerard I can believe, 22 years old and holding his own as a starting prop. Allen is a 29 year old Wigan reject who probably belongs in the championship, so I can't see that one being true.

I would suspect that Saints are in the market for a young/project prop to replace Beaumont. I doubt that they are in a big rush to find their man.

Would you not think a older more experienced prop is needed more than another upcoming walmsley style prop?

I think we need a real hard working tough prop that can put More than the odd 20 min stint. As it stands we have Mose and walmsley that need a rest after 20 mins and Amor the only prop who can put long mins in if need be.

So basically if Amor gets hurt we are stuck with impact props. IMO a good starting tough prop is paramount.

Paul Gallen seem s to be doing a good job of alienating himself from everyone down under. No more rep footy for him. Why not sneak in with a cheeky bid and a promise of a couple of years out of the spotlight.

We already have Flanagan as an ex Wigan back row utility player, we don't need another in Allen. Gallen has played his best footy at 13? We have enough competition there without another back rower cum prop like laffranchi.
