| According to Eddie Cunningham on twitter KC does not fancy the coaching job yet and as asked the club to try and convince Daniel Anderson to come back to work along side him. Saints are in talks with DA according to Eddie.
It's his official account aswell, no fake. Good or bad move ?

| Good move imo.
We have all the flair and skill in the side we could possibly need, with a rigid defensive structure and fitness regime we could really dominate, and Anderson can give us that. He'd be high on my list of good replacements for Brown. Its always a worry to go back though.
In a lot of respects 2014 is similar to 2005, top of the league, chances written off as we've lost our halfback, and just have that sense of being on the verge...

In a lot of respects it's nothing like 2005. No Scully, no Albert, no Lyon, etc.
How many of the current squad would get into that team?
I've left out KC and Longy, as Roby and Walsh are fair replacements

Good point, however the whole league as lost its standard.
This Wigan team for example isent anywhere near the squads they had when they had the likes of Dallas, Farrell, Radlinski etc.. yet they hardly won anything. Back then Aussies where getting top dollar and off shore accounts.

Not really the point I was drilling at. More where we are in terms of the rest of the league, regardless of relative personnel.
Anderson, Mal, Sheens - it's a nice list to have associated to the position...

| Oh yeah, even having the current Austrailian coach linked with our coaching job is pretty good

| Anderson isn't the coaching genius some remember him as. (Obviously he had a lot of positives)
He was from the Brian Smith stable, which essentially meant that he liked big forwards and a fast play the ball. There wasn't an awful lot past that and there was testimony that he changed a lot to suit the players opinions.
(He would bring a bit of discipline back and he does look cool in shades. )
DA, KC and Sean Long for attacking coach? Maybe that would work.

This team is nowhere near the team we had when DA was here last. The team DA had last time was blessed with ability and we didn't even pick vinnie Anderson and nick fozzard in the 17 in few finals.
I like DA and happy to have him.....if the is nobody else. I think sometimes going back to old coaches is like a back step and would prefer us to see who else wants it and if the is any good young modern coaches about.
Shame Jason Taylor got the job at wests as he's a good coach.
Like I said, I'm happy to have DA but I'd 100% see who else is out there as well. I'm hearing DA, big Mal and David Faurleigh.

What he did change at Saints though was to convert us into a defensive wall. We were a great attacking unit before DA, but he added a mean defense without taking away the attacking flair

This is probably what would happen if DA came back, as when he first came over he sorted the defense out first. Also by todays standards we don't have great players like Scully, Long, "Wellens" but we will have Lomax, Walsh, Burns.
I've being saying quite a few times now DA reckoned Longy would make a good coach, it would be great if Longy came back to work alongside a possible DA and KC.
In theory we have a great pack and back line, all thats missing is a proper structure working to the match plans, this is DA's strength. One of the amusing things with DA was his "Death Stare" with James Graham, he would take Graham off the pitch and Graham would give him a "death stare", DA would take his sun glasses off and return a "death stare" with greater effect.

Yes.
Attacking rugby as a whole has moved on a lot, so we'd need someone to sort that, but Anderson gave us steel and would be a good man to oversee that we have the right standards in place with regard discipline, conditions and professionalism.

| A coaching team of DA, KC and SL sounds like a winner for me. Longy Certainly improved Salfords attack when he was there , KC seems to be the man in waiting for the top job at some point and DA knows the club, gets on well with the management and has bags of experience .. and as mentioned looks cool in shades

Whoever the coach is, I would 100% bring longy in as attacking coach.

| Is Longy fit of mind to be back coaching. Don't want to be adding to his stress too much
