| Hmmm...
I have to say though that all the Brough and Ferres controversy has overshadowed what was one of the best tries I've ever seen. The second try we scored was amazing. My only concern is that Makinson has to realise there are other safer ways of putting the ball down without doing the dying swan every time. Sometimes just plonking it down is a safer bet.

It takes the touchline out of the equation. It's his trademark finish, he arguably has to use it now even if he runs in untouched and unfollowed from a 90m interception.

And when it is, he does 'plonk' it down.
Only a rugby league fan can complain over such a thing. Makinson has managed to secure tries that other wingers would not have secured simply because he has the ability to do what he does.
He also knows how to catch bombs and field kick offs. Pity our other winger doesn't, especially when we are in the final few minutes of the match and he's within reach of the ball.

Are you kidding me?! That was an unbelievably hard take, tougher than any spiral bomb you could put up. It was a sensational kick by Brough and there was no mistake by Swift.

Really? Adam swift is a great player and took plenty of high balls under a yon pressure yesterday alone, have made a little mistake but I feel even if he had of got anything on it Huddersfield would have still got the drop out for my money either swift touching it on the way out or taking it over the line ball in hand
Danny brough is the current man of steel and kicking like that is the reason why

It was no mistake to just let it run? At the very back end of a knock out game? Purlease.
I'm not doubting it was a spiral bomb. I was there. I saw it. But Wello never shirked them and nor should Swift have done. Had he tried for it and got it then the drop goal farce would never have started. Had he tried for it and knocked on then we would have been no worse off. Truth is, he didn't even try for it.

Oh aye, yes. That's why I've said previously how great our BACKLINE is, and what a terrific young winger Swift appears to be.
Swift made an error. He wasn't the only one to make an error throughout the game. Plenty did. But I thought it should be mentioned because other players' errors have been mentioned.
I'll give praise when it's due and criticism when it's due.

Any praise for Nathan Brown yet ?

He didn't just let it run, it was nigh on impossible to get to. Have you ever tried to stop a ball that comes at that speed, moving through the air which then skids off the wet grass faster than it came in? I have and it's one of the hardest balls to get to, there is absolutely nothing he could have done, bar knocking it on which leads onto your next point...

This is completely wrong, wingers don't stand in goal, so if he had gone for it and knocked it on it would have been a scrum in our own 10m line. Rather than a drop out and Hudds picking up position on half way. That sort of field position and that point in the game is tactically huge.

We'll agree to disagree on that one, since Swift is a favourite of yours.

Not complaining, just making the point that safety is far more important than style. I've watched rugby for a long time and seen lots of players lose the ball by trying to.put it down one handed, either because they've been hit hard by a tackler or just because it's a very hard thing to do (Sonny Bill?). When it's the only way to score then of course he should do.it but otherwise the safer the better for me.
