Yes.
St Helens the town is rather common and unfortunate so the club has decided to detach itself for marketing purposes. "Saints RL" brings images of clouds and superior beings, "St Helens RLFC" brings images of terraced houses, chimneys and kids that look like extras from Oliver Twist.

TBH It was mentioned by Peter Hood at the Bulls fans forum last night. He actually put a good spin on it in terms of you guys actually growing your brand not just in this country but in places like Ireland and the US

It's a branding thing. The club is still St Helens RLFC. But the idea of it is to spread the brand far and wide. Well, perhaps as far as Scouseland. |

However remember all the cr@p we got when we were re-branded Wigan Warriors, by the RFL.

Not sure it needs spreading here. There are plenty of cars sporting Saints paraphernalia (sp) both around here where I live (Waterloo RU territory) and further south in Liverpool itself and beyond. In fact, when Google Street View first appeared, I was looking around Goodison Park area and spotted someone wearing a Saints away strip. |

....only we are not being re branded we have always been Saints and the name of the club is not changing. |

I don't support Saints. I support St Helens RLFC, whose nickname happens to be Saints.
