| On the pitch, wanes "son" defensively was already having his weekend off.

He really was off his game today wasn't he?
However, I think the player they really missed was Leuluai. I've consistently maintained that Tommy is their best player and IMO there was a Tommy sized hole in that defence and attack. Didn't help that Finch looked like he had regressed to his first season with them: he was useless.
Quite funny really!

| I'd love to see the stats on that game, I think JJB has broke the world record for missed tackles.

He certainly was leaving huge holes. Probably wont have much in the missed tackles stats though as he often wasnt even close to having a chance of tackling the pies. He was the single reason that Wigan remained in the game.
On the match thread. Tomkins had a horror game in the first half, and ultimately his mistakes were the reason Wigan got beaten.
Leeds however again showed the value and necessity of having pace in the three quarters. Their forwards may have beaten up the Wigan pack, but it ws the pacey backs who applied the coup de grace.
Rob Burrow was also sensational at hooker, and completely justified his inclusion in the England setup, despite the protestations from pie fans about the none appearance of the pedestrian Mclorum in the exiles matches.
What now for Wigan, their coach was trying to create an aura of invincibility about the club. Something the arrogant pie fans were eager to latch onto. Today Leeds popped that bubble. It will therefore be interesting to see how they respond come the rest of the league season and playoffs.
With the loss of four senior players at Wigan at the end of the season. I've been of the opinion that this year could be their last shot at the big time for a few years, due to the side having to go through a rebuilding process. With one trophy slipping from their grasp, the players will be under a lot of pressure to make it count in the playoffs. Fingers crossed they fall by the wayside.

How sad is it, that a team you don't support makes your day. On reflection your team is e and will be worse next year under Brown, but keep watching from the side lines to what the big teams are doing!

| Unfortunately we saved our worst performance of the season for today. Played poorly and as a consequence got what we deserved. A 60% completion rate shows how poor our respect for possession was. Yet to only lose by eleven with a couple of dodgy try's thrown in for good measure whilst playing a poorly as we did, offers some crumbs of comfort.
Far, far too many uncharacteristic play's from Wigan today, from mistakes and errors to a lack of composure.
Never the less it hasn't dented my confidence of a GF appearance and win. Today just wasn't meant to be.
We went out to Leeds in the CC in 2010 which galvanized the teams focus and determination to win the GF in 2010, you remember right? Fingers crossed history repeats it's self.

| I'm sick and tired of saying it, but the current Wigan team are really nothing special. They are solid and organised and are hard to beat and turn up to play every week and have a couple of first-rate strike players but other than that they are mostly the very definition of average. I laugh every single time the doomsayers come on here with the "they're the best team in the league and unbeatable" c**p... Any team with a bit of quality that meets them head on in the forwards (as we have singularly failed to do so far this year) and that can keep Tomkins under wraps will beat them every time. We're due to be that team in the playoffs. I hope...

You beat us three times last year too but we kicked you out of the play offs. Twice, in fact.
Sometimes it's wiser to offer a humble face to the world, especially when you have just been soundly beaten.

I could explain, but as a Pie-eater your intellect is naturally very limited and the sight of your poor confused and furrowed thickset brow contorting in bemused agony while you attempted to understand what I was saying would create far too much pity/hilarity in me to be able to stand.
See you in the playoffs. Loser.
There - that's much more your debating level now, isn't it? Happy now
