Quote: Oxford Exile "its painful to lose in a GF...you guys know that more than anyone else. (was it 6 in a row?)...More painful however, IMO, is to be nowhere near the big games that really matter. That is painful....wouldn't you agree? The margins are fine in top level sport....we fell short (again!)...but just short of winning the treble. On to next year we go.'"
5, we won the one before that. So we went to 6 Grand Finals on the bounce.
Losing in a final is more painful. If Saints haven't reached a final, then we've at least contested in the play off semi, you know, cos we're the only team in SL who have reached the play-offs on every single occasion. So, as the bigger more successful club, we can confirm that it is more painful to fall at the final hurdle than the 2nd to last hurdle.
Anyway, it really doesn't matter. What did you win? Sod all. It hurts. Move on to next year.
