| Quote Magic Superbeetle="Magic Superbeetle"Cas's first try was caused because Vea slipped when coming off the line, Amor tried to cover from marker but got stood up as a result. the third try came about because Amor came off the line and Vea didnt.
LMS is frustrating with his penalties, and is seemingly offering ever decreasing returns.
Wilkin, regardless of percentages, is 4th for missed tackles across the whole of the SL.
Our entire back row needs a shake up imo.'"
But one cannot judge the significance of Wilkin's position in that table without knowing what the percentages are; though I accept the point that's been made many times on these boards that the stats do not show the nature of the misses, either in terms of field position or in terms of the ebb and flow of the match.

| I think Amor and Vea tend to miss the most tackles as they're out there for long periods of time.
We run Vea especially into the ground playing 80 mins week in, week out, taking 15-20 carries per game (sometimes more). I think missing tackles are a consequence of this. I'd like to see Vea, LMS and Greenwood interchanging with none of them doing more than 60 mins at a time. Let Wilkin direct us round the pitch at 13. Tasi/Thompson, Walmsley, Savelio and Amor as props. I'm happy with Wilkin playing 80 mins as he's more of a pivot than a metre maker.

If he is up against the salary cap, then from what I've seen so far, he is overpaying a lot of players.

I think he's just completely lost in his own idealism, someone needs to have words and put him back into reality.

Two outspoken legends of the game in Alex Murphy and Garry Schofield have both criticised our approach and style of play and KC has brushed their comments off.
Has I've said in previous posts, I think Cunningham can be a success coaching us but I admit I am a little perturbed by his comments disregarding an expansive style as being the way to win games. He's a St Helens lad and he knows the clubs philosophy. A few years ago, Rush compared the clubs philosophy to that of football teams like Ajax and Barcelona. The hierarchy at this club expect the team to be entertaining and so I expect KC knows that too.
I expect another 2 points tonight and that will be 4 out of 5. We should be aiming to keep them to at least 1 try because personality I'm more concerned by our defence than attack at present.

| 44-4, kept them down to one score, put a few points on the board to improve our points difference, 4 wins out of 5....any thoughts?

Wakefield at home can't tell us much. They're the worst team in the league by a country mile, their coach just walked out on them, and they're at our place. It's one of those games where the only acceptable result is a big win.
The real test is Leeds. They're not the same side which won the GF last year, but they're still capable of putting up a decent show for long periods. I think that'll be a better test of where we are. A good win and I think a lot of the criticism off the back of Salford and the Aussies will subside.

| People will point out how bad Wakefield were (and they were bad), but in the first half I thought we were pretty good and played with a bit more freedom. We have much better shape with Wilkin at 13 and Greenwood on the edge. Turner at 6 offers a running threat but he misses things that a real half wouldn't. I'm hoping to see more of Fages soon.
In the second half it turned into a bit of a pre-season friendly.
Shame for Swift - looked like a bad injury.

| Still a few things to moan about, why did LMS have to go centre when Turner could have gone there with Wilkin at stand off. We did play with a lot of freedom in the first half with more passes in the first 10 mins than what we normally do in a whole match, don't know what KC said at half time but we restarted as per the norm barging up the middle. Wakefield were the worse super league team I have seen for many years, we should have put more points on in the second half, Widnes or Warrington would have kept there foot on the gas and got 60 to 70 points.
Leeds next week who are struggling in the halves and the opposition are wrapping up Cuthbertson to stop his offloads, will KC put this in his game plan next week or will he think the way forward is an arm wrestle, we've got 3 important games now which will shape us up for the remaining season.

I didn't go to saints so I watched the Wigan v Leeds game and Leeds were awful. We should beat Leeds as comfortably as Wigan did last night.
The one I am worried about - and always fear if I'm being honest - is Wigan on good Friday. I can't remember the last time we showed up in that fixture. If we beat them in a couple of weeks I think that will really lift the team and the fans.
