| they should sit walsh and burns down and make em watch a couple of old videos of tommy martyn and longy when they played together...abbot and costello would be a better half back pairing than those two.and as for matty dawson..he couldnt get in the giants first team..(im not surprised with his pathetic tackling and ball dropping)..we may be 2cnd in the chart..but this is the worse saints team ive seen for a while..they struggled against widnes after being 18-6 up..then they threw an 18-10 lead away at cas..everyone was taking the mickey out of the pies loss at warrington..saints were even worse tonight!

You could say that about most of Super League's imports, prime example is Steve Michaels at Hull FC, he is beyond average but gets a game every week.

I didn't see much of Burns but he had a little spell when he looked like the player we had signed when he was taking the line on but for 70 mins I forgot he was playing.
I noticed Walsh regular. He was missing tackles like they was going out of fashion. He's trying to put himself in position where he doesn't have to make contact. He is a player teams will use spot plays on as most halves but he's not up to it physically or mentally. He's lost his bottle. The was a ball that went to ground and he was afraid to drop on the ball which in my book not acceptable.
Maybe we'd be best sitting him out for the rest of the year and go with Wilkin who at least tries to stamp he authority on the game and lead us.

| Certainly there's an argument for sticking Quinlan not at fullback, but at halfback while Walsh sorts his head out.

Would sooner have Percival back in the centres and Quinlan at full back, my opinion Walsh needs to sort his head out whilst on the pitch and not sat in the stands. Let Quinlan settle into the team for a couple of games away from the coal face in the halves, if things don't, improve when we go into the 8's then there is an option of him going at 7.

Wonderful signing Saints supporters were saying last year at this time. Do you all still feel he was worth the fee?

| I would keep it simple.
Drop Walsh and put Wilkin back to 7.
Wilkin is no half but he got us to the top 4 with effort and endeavour. It's not ideal but until Walsh can go a few rounds with mose then he's not ready to take the field.
I feel for him but it's a professional game if youa are not ready to get hurt you can't play rl full stop.

I think so, he,s average at times but he has kept us ticking over in the top 3 so far this season, whilst your half back star signings are just about holding on and struggling to be in the top 8.

Up until the Souths game he was very good. His long passes to Percy was worldclass. He also was working well with Vea on those inside balls.
He's been pretty average for past 6 weeks tho and not looked the same since hull KR targeted him.

Its not the fault of our half back star signings that we are only just in the top eight. Looking at how your half backs are performing I know which I would prefer in my team even with Campese long term injury.

Green did not do him any favours I agree but a top player would not allow such an incident so so adversely affect him. I think you need to look at other reasons for his decline in performance. He is mirroring our experience. A period of excellence followed by average performance.
