| "Second, I find it hard to believe that this board's resident Pandora finds it inconceivable that a player who is willing to string his club along with a fictitious rationale whilst negotiating against them will do so again (with far greater consequences). "
Must admit I see Saddened as more of a Cassandra figure myself; at least Pandora eventually let out Hope after trapping her in the box, and I've never seen much evidence that hope plays much part in Saddened's on-line persona.

| Quote St pete="St pete"Rugby league is his job. Forget loyalty crap, he's here to make money. It's easy to watch from your fans seat and say he's not loyal but would you stay in your current Job if another company offered you more money ?
At the end of the day sav has probably 12 years to make what he can and hope he's lucky with injuries. I want to him stay but I know it's their living and not just sport.'"
If my company had developed me over several years, supported me through a debilitating illness and then promoted me, I would feel like I at least owed that company a bit of loyalty yes.
I'm not saying he owes us loyalty forever, and if he wants to go and follow his dream of the NRL one day, he goes with our blessing when he's firmly established, but Warrington for a bit more money?!

BUT, if you were "head hunted" by another company and offered a far better salary, with fringe benefits (car, pension etc) the surely you would consider it. As I've said previously Saints will have a max value for Savelio. If another club want to pay more than that then Saints have a big decision to make. Personally I would stick to my guns and let him go, because it will cause further problems down the line when the next young stars come knocking at the chairmans door asking for salaries that the club don't think are justified.
Savelio is a very good prospect, but that's all he is at the moment. What happens if he doesn't fulfill that potential and you finish up paying him way above market rate for four or five years?

And what if this type of money never came again ? He's got to look after himself, it's s short career and injury can end a career at anytime. They don't earn massive amounts so need to take what they can.
When I was 20 I had the the choice of fulltime rugby with a big club for a decent amount or carry on in the line of work I was doing and I retired from rugby (play amatuer tho) as I can earn much more money working. Id been with that club since 15.

| If he does go (which it seems he will be doing) then we'll move on.
Warrington APPEAR to be building a nice side for next year so I guess thats one reason he may be moving.
If the money is right and he is getting what he wants then I can't blame him, I'd do exactly the same in that position.
It's a damn shame to see him go mind.
Saints have lost better players and carried on. As you were Sintellins!

| Savelio has indeed signed Sean Magennis ex saints player told me today. He was told by Gary Wheeler. All his local Warrington friends are telling everybody so its no big secret it will have to be announced soon.
Hope he never plays for us again. Give Olly Davies a run instead.

| So it sounds like a money move, big risk by Sav in that Agar could decoach him inside 6 weeks. Like LFC Saint has mentioned Knowles and Davies to step up, don,t know what kind of reception the Saints fans will give Sav if he gets picked on Sunday, bit of a Judas feel to it if confirmed by the club.

Completely agree. Player movement is a market. If he goes he goes, we move on. There are other players who I'd be more worried about losing.

How is he a big loss? He's a prospect, no more. People are getting carried away with this I think.
For every one you lose there's another one waiting to take his place.
