Not pleasant reading
Our Forwards are shocking at the moment, Walmesley 64 mtrs was the best!
Roby made an astounding 50 tackles, so no surprise his go forward was below his usual high standards, but still got 98
Wilkin 37 tackles, but an embarrassing 6 missed
Walsh missed 4 too, but we knew he wasnt a great defender
Dawson got through alot of work too, but i noticed he kept coming inside, leaving us with big holes on the wing which led to tries
Bad day at the office

| I see LMS went looking for defensive work. 18 tackles and one miss. Lazy sod. Walker wasn't any better.
Why do we have forwards again?

Walkers stats weren't much work than Masoes.

| Personally I thought Dawson was our best player. Yes, he didn't back himself down the wing and kept cutting in, but the thing is, no one was keeping hold of the ball. If he'd have tried going down the wing and got put in touch then we'd lose the ball. With him cutting inside, he would be tackled but we'd still have the ball and in a better position. But yes, he could still try and go down the touchline now and again

| Masoe and Walmsleys stats are both rubbish.
Walmsleys are by far and away the worst of the season, which makes me think he went into the game with a knock and wasn't fit. Both his tackling effort and his hitups are far below normal levels
Watching the match I thought Masoe looked as if he was making metres, but the stats indicate otherwise. His match stats are the worst since his first game back from injury.
It says a lot when Wilkin is our top metre maker.
I don't know what Dawson has to do to get credit. He certainly isn't Tom van Vollenhoven but he is a capable three quarter. From what I have seen he is strong under the high ball, a good returner and has the size and pace to break tackles and make inroads downfield. He is no superstar but is a capable deputy to Swift and Makinson.
Lomax stats make shocking reading. For a fullback to make just 57 metres all game is rubbish.
Its very uncharacteristic of him. Every other game this season he has gone over 100 metres, to put things in perspective he made 191 metres against Leeds and 180 metres against Wigan.
When added to the mistakes he was making, I can only assume that he either got injured early doors or was unfit going into the match.
It does make me think therefore that some of the other players, perhaps seeing that Walmsley and Lomax were not match fit, went into the game with the view that the game was done and dusted so no point pushing the boat out. If this was the case its disgraceful. Especially when you consider Wigan went into the Leeds match with only 8 players fit to train. The rest were all needled up or going through the pain barrier.

| From those Stats. Matty Dawson was by far our best performer. It's difficult to break into a team where the wingers are all local lads, and the centres too to a point. At this stage I'd have no worries about him playing in the centres.
Not a wonder kid, but makes breaks consistantly whether the team are performing or not. Is that not what you want from a centre??

Walmsley is injured and will more than likely miss a couple.

From what I can see be made more tackles (missing one) and hit ups than any other saints prop, with a couple of offloads and a bust.
So our impact prop is doing more work than all the other Props. There might be a clue in there as to why his impact isn't what you'd like it to be pete, but I suppose it's just easier to slate Masoe.

| If it were me I would give Dawson an extended stay in the centres he is a lot more solid and durable than having to keep changing Turner, Jones and Percival.
Jones never makes a lot of metres and looks a better player when he is the pack.
With the exception of the first couple of games Walmsley has never looked fit this season always seems to go into a game with knock or something.
What I can,t understand is the recovery times of our injured players they seem to take an age to get back compared to other clubs. We don't have any structured play to slot players in like Wigan and Leeds so we are back to square pegs in round holes again.
