| I'd have him back but I still have a feeling it would all still end in tears.
Walking out of a club is hardly an advertisement for maturity
Quote It is understood that Eastmond, who won two caps during the summer tour to Argentina, is dealing with personal issues.'"

I don't think he's settled in Bath or in union.

| Quote wakey_saint="wakey_saint"As we released him from his contract a year early to go to Union, did we not insert a clause offering us first refusal if he decided to return to RL (similarly to the one Leeds had with Harris, which Bradford broke and pretty much went bankrupt over)?
If we did, I would happily give him another chance. Without a doubt a great talent and would be ideal at 6 alongside Walsh, although maybe his attitude would need a change before we took him back as he still seems like a bit of a baby'"
We didn't release him early, did we? As I remember it we gave him a one year contract, he 'played' out that contract and then he left.

| There was no early release, his last contract was a 2-year one that expired. Wasn't Offiah his agent at the time?
Should go without saying that we should try and bring him back, I'm not concerned at all with what went on that final year, he was a kid who made a couple of mistakes, who doesn't? He's young and talented enough to be a huge asset in any RL team in any backline position for the best part of the next decade.
All that said I wouldn't read too much into him leaving a game early, and I'm certainly not getting my hopes up about him coming back.

| I'd have no problem bringing him back.
The flair and the unpredictability would be a welcome return and with a decent overhaul in the squad and coaching staff since he left i think it would be quite refreshing

| To me it was the worst recruitment decision we made and cost us dearly.
We bottled it with Eastmond and its costs us a lot more.
He wanted a long contract we didnt offer that then RU came calling.
What did it cost us
3 years of a top half
A fee
trophies
wages on alternatives
Quota space
bums on seats
But much more than that our recuitment decisions in subsequent years where massively affected by his departure.
We started handing out long contracts to average players, We panicked with Hohaia, Kept wheeler etc etc.
But do we bring him back - its not as big of a decision this time.
I think weve drawn a major line in the sand in our recruitment and stepped up this year.
Personally I think we should always be in the market for players who add to the squad.
Its a gamble to see what hes lost in RL ability but halves are thin on the ground.
Id like him back especially as Walsh may only do his 2 years.
Of eastmond delivers he might be off too but id rather see him deliver in a red vee.

I think you've got that the wrong way round mate. As I remember it we were desperate to keep Kyle for as long as possible but he would only sign a short extension because he was already clearly intending to cross codes.

True, we offered him 3 year deal which he didn't accept and signed a one year extension. The following year he left to union.

The question needs to be asked as to why we always draw the short straw though. With Leneghan at Wigan, he seems to get them to sign long deals with the understanding that they are moving. The club then gets a big transfer fee for the player. We don't do that.
