1. How would you score out of 10 the teams performance so far this season.
In the early part of the season, I can only say 4 or 5 out of ten but I really don't think this was down to a lack of effort by the players (despite some of the negative comments throughout the season, I [ugenuinely[/u believe that every player turns out on match days to give of their best!) In the second half of the season, I'd say seven out of ten.
2. How many games this season have you found acceptable based on performance and effort over the full 80 mins.
The question is difficult to answer because "acceptable" isn't necessarily related to player effort, for the reason I've given above. Question 3 perfectly defines why team performance hasn't seen the usual Saints style of play.
3. Having no half backs, in your opinion how severe has this been a set back on the outcome of the season.
This has been the key factor in what has been only an "average" season for the Saints. Having said that, our guys have finished fifth in the table, despite injuries to stand-out players, so can we please give them [uall[/u great credit for that.
4. Another enormous amount of injuries this season, do you think this may be down to bad conditioning, technique or just plain bad luck.
How can we assess conditioning standards? We have a state of the art training centre and - I believe - some of the best conditioning specialists available. We need to remember that only a few of our stand-out players have been out with injuries, the remainder of the team have played in most of the games.
5 Who in you opinion who are the top 5 influential or important players at the club.
Robes, Sia, Lomax, Wilkin (100% effort all season - he should be captain! Sorry Wello but I'm still one of your biggest fans!) and big Alex.
6 What is your perception for the future of the club, on and off the field.'"
The future's very bright and for that we need to give credit to a man who's had a lot of stick on this website this season (not from me!). I refer of course to Eamonn McManus and, having looked up his working and sporting background on the web, I can honestly say that Saints fans should be immensely proud to have him as a Chairman.
