Quote: Saddened! "The usual with Wigan. As with the first team, against who Francis Cummins complained to the RFL, Wigan's players spent the game trying to snap knee joints with drives at standing players' knees. The 'technique' is called 'snapping the pole' at Wigan.
Bradford got so sick of the referee doing nothing about it that they gave one back at the end, which unleashed the frustration that had been building. Unsurprisingly it was Wigan with the superior aggression and they ended up with half their side up before the disciplinary commitee.
This tackling technique HAS to be outlawed soon. It injures far more players than shoulder charges ever did. It is really disappointing that Wigan are doing it at Under 19 level, serious risk of careers being over before they've really started.'"
And yet the Ref and the RFL subsequently saw nothing wrong. I watched the game and didn't see anything which is also called 'snapping the pole' at St Helens and other teams.
The tackling technique is outlawed and Wigan don't do it.
As for the Bradford got sick, are you basing this on hearsay from the forums or did you go to the game an witness it yourself?
