Quote Dux="Dux"But Laffranchi was signed to play prop. He needs to be replaced with a prop. Whitehead is good, but signing him would mean not being able to sign someone else. Given that we need strengthening in at least three other positions it would be crazy to spend cap money on a position where we already have a selection of quality established players and up and coming youngsters.'"
He is a bigger man than Laffranchi and will probably play at prop later in his career. Having said that we are rumoured to be resigning Flanagan and are after Tony Club who are both not as good as Whitehead. We are also rumoured to be resigning Wellens who has player as a second rower this year as well.
In the end only the people at the club know how much players are on and how many players we can afford. If by signing Whitehead we could not afford a prop then, I agree, it would not be a good idea but I doubt that is the case.
