| His distribution was decent and I thought he did well. He only had one training session with us!
If he continues to do a job over the next few weeks, then I think he could be much needed back up for Roby.

| He did well. He takes his time getting rid of the ball, but his distribution was accurate and he worked hard.

| Different sort of player to Roby. Howarth is never going rip a defence apart with his running, and Roby is a dynamo in defence. But I think Howarth's distribution is actually better. He's more an old-style dummy half (reminded me a little bit of Lowes)

| When at dummy half he seemed to opt for playing the ball on the blind side an awful lot, and it rarely looked like the right decision.

| I did think he looked a little slow getting the ball out. I thought a few times he was going to get caught with the ball. But I did not want to be too critical as it was his first outing and I did not want it to turn into a pro-Gaskell Anti Howarth campaign.
With one day in the team we could not expect a lot.

| Considering he's only had one game training with the team, he did alright, especially in such a big game. I was pleasantly surprised by his performance.

| I thought he did ok today but with the adrenalin surging through him in a good Friday debut against his former club that's only to be expected.
His real tests will come in a month or two's time when the honeymoon period is over and done with. I'd be surprised if he's till in your side come the important game at the back end of the year tbh.

I think that's very harsh, his distribution was fine. The fact we had no structure to our play throughout the game meant he was having to evaluate the situation and choose the best pass, rather than following set patterns. He's certainly a class above Nathan Ashe.

| Did nothing particularly bad, did nothing particularly brilliant.
Comments about his distribution are fair but John Clarke does that bit well.
Hardly going to frighten defences, He is not the answer.

Agree, he did a pretty good job under the circumstances. His pass variation looked better than Roby,s, he certainly performed better than the pre match judgement opinions of him.
