Can you actually remember a great game Sinfield has had playing in the halves against Australia??? Breaking there defence down??? I certainly cant!

Aye, Clarke played 6 in the 3rd test. The match in which Farrell was outstanding at 6 was the 2nd test against the Aussie SL side in 1997.

Long played a blinder in Sydney that time, but had plenty of off days.
The problem people like him and Deacon had is that they'd have a quiet day mainly becuase their forwards lost out, but then they'd be written off as not being able to perform on the international stage.
We do not have a glut of talent at half back, we have even fewer who are in the mould to dicate a game with distribution and kicking and apply a game plan.

We could win these internationals by turning up and just out muscling the oppo, but for the sake of playing anything past one up park rugby, take Sinfield.

Sinfield is never going to be a dazzling stand off in the mould of Lockyer or Marshall. He is however an outstanding leader, organiser and a master of all types of kick. He'll be the first to admit (like many halves) that he needs a pack that is holding its own, and that seems to be where we struggle against Australia regardless of who's at 6 or 7. As a captain he should be first class though, a true role model of a professional RL player
