I understand and I am also of the opinion that we can't get to the final again. However as it gets closer and closer to match day that sporting fan takes over from the logical and factual and the what if factor takes over.

The same as playing Wigan 4/5 times in a year dilutes the event, yet as it gets closer to game day the interest does pick up.

That's my big worry. I really don't want us to reach Old Trafford this season, we're so rudderless and devoid of a captain and of creativity and control in the halves that we'll never win the GF, so avoiding it altogether would be the best thing for us.

I'm not looking forward to Friday at all. I don't think wane is the type to rest players in a derby game unless players have slight injury worries.

Completely agree with this as it is the aim of every team to make it to Old Trafford for Grand Final Night. I would like to think we've saved our best for the end of year route to Old Trafford.
