Quote Judder Man="Judder Man"Can anyone think of any home game this season where we have played with intensity, skill and entertainment.............I,m struggling to think of any.
This is probably the worst saints team, performance wise in the era of superleague, yet we are in top 4. Just shows how the standard of Superleague is riding on the bottom.'"
In the past there have been many dull games, however the one thing that kept you watching the game was that there was always the chance of a great try to liven up an otherwise dull afternoon or evening. Quite often that would happen against poor opposition as Saints would be able to break from deep and score what looked like a cracking try, even though it was scored against paper thin defence.
Tonight however we saw a side quite happy to kick the ball on the third tackle, play for territory and penalties, force the turnover, then fall over the line from 10 yards out. It was more akin to rugby union tactics, than traditional RL.
The fact these tactics are good enough to ensure a top 4 league finish is a shocking indictment of the league at present.
Teams should have to win matches not rely on the opposition giving away penalties and dropping the ball.
