Agree.Perry and Laffranchi were very good tonight and led us back into it in the last 10.The penalty Perry gained near the end was crucial and led to Laffranchi's try.

| Catalan and Warrington may actually put our destiny in our own hands. But it will be tough.

| Strange game tonight. The pack started the game on fire, we had almost all the ball for the first half hour. Puletua was unplayable, Perry was having a stormer, Gaskell's kicking was superb and Lomax was looking dangerous. Some of the moves in that first 30 were the Saints of old romping up the field. Then something just switched, suddenly Hull KR had all the ball and scored a couple of really soft tries. From the 30 minute mark to the 65 minute mark they absolutely destroyed us. Their pack was on top, their halves creating chances. When they hit the front I though it was over, no way back.
Jon Wilkin was my MOM tonight. There are a lot who criticise him for not stepping up when it matters, but I thought he was sensational tonight. He put in so many tackles, most of them very dominant. He was also superb with the ball and caused trouble with his kicking. He really stepped up the intensity with 20 to go and led the team home.
Is there any news on J-Lo? Looked a very serious injury given the way they took 15 minutes to walk him off the pitch, hopefully he won't be out too long.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. He was carrying his arm and looked in a lot of pain.
So far as the halfback performances were concerned, the coach made a mistake in taking all our more aggressive (relatively speaking) men off the pitch at the same time but even when they were on they were beaten by the HKR forwards, as they were in the away fixture. We don't have big aggressive props. We seem to have an inadequate prop in Perry (he was atrocious during the first half) and LMS (who fires up inconsistently) and then second rowers trying to play at prop and doing so inconsistently. Without hard running, aggressive props our halfbacks can't do their thing. That's just a fact of rugby league. IMO that's what happened tonight when HKR recovered from their last minute arrival at the stadium and started to play.
However, that's a different issue from defence. That was just a recurring problem of the season. I think we just miss Jammer and all the work he did, especially in the middle.

He most certainly didn't. He was terrible in the first half. He was a penalty/error machine.

| The last two games have been important for saints as a team. To come back from 10-0 down against Salford and then to win a game after giving away a big lead show real character. We have lost the never write saints off mentality, and I can hardly remember a game in tge last couple of years whwn we have come from behind. In 96 we made a habit of playing games like that, and those wins have saints the confidence that carried us through for our successes in super league. Winning easily is great, but having the mentality to win games like last night is more important.

Perry was terrible in his first 20 min stint, they hammered him, he's flat on his back soon as the defence hit him. The field postion came from some very good good kicks from lee Gaskell. Perrys second spell was much better.
Flannery was ineffective but I'm starting to think flanaghan will be the new flannery, he's totally invisable when he's on.
TP is wasted outwide, it's pretty rare he touches the ball.

I thought they very much targeted him in his first stint with 3 men tackles from offside positions. His second stint much better against forwards who were not as energetic, Cloughy had little effect coming on and LMS very inconsistent.
Flannery is not providing anything now, would sooner play Dixon instead.
