Today we got 40 put past us by a competent, but hardly all star Wigan outfit.

It says a lot about the lack of ability of our players that they are utterly incapable of creating a gap by simply drawing a man and passing the ball. Something the semi pro boys of the early 1990's knew how to do.

I really don't think you need to act as a substitute Pie Chair Maker! We are all well aware of the added humiliation of conceding to a team with fewer men on the field. I just hope the players feel as humiliated because there was absolutely nothing whatsoever that was positive about any performance in a red vee today.

However, although I was surprised by the size of our capitulation, I certainly wasn't surprised that it happened. I didn't think we would beat them because, unlike Rush et al (who was either lying or deluded), I believed us to be miles away from them this season.

Just pointing out that 20 years ago part time players knew the RL basics. Todays Saints players are robots with no individual flair.


The thing is this is nothing new for sides Rush has coached re Wane.

In pretty much every major Saints v Wigan junior match under these coaches leadership, Wane has managed to motivate Wigan to demolish Saints.

He simply knows that these matches are a matter of life and death, and the Wigan players feed off that.

Sure it happened on Boxing Day 1994 too (Saints 25-32 Wigan) when Wigan had Henry Paul sent off then Neil Cowie and Adam Fogarty were sin-binned for 12v11.The 1992 game was well in the bag at 28-6 before Skerrett was marched for his elbow on McCracken.Think Platt was then binned after that.

The point still stand's though.

Wasn't Connolly sin binned in that game too in 94 for holding on?
