Although Wigan averaged 5.6m from 74 carries and Saints averaged 4.8m from 93 carries. We had far greater territory than you did, but I'd put that down to your poor completion rate. |

you hit the nail on the head, we had less carries because we made errors and didnt complete sets, but of the carries we made each play gained more ground. There is no point in making 80m from your own try line if you do nothing with the ball in the last 20m. It was the defense by Wigan in their own 20m being able to stop the Saints attack and their ability to create gaps in your 20m that made the difference. |

Your goal D was good, there's no questioning that, but I think our poor attack was a big factor too. The game reminded me a lot of the semi last year when we had ample territory and ball yet couldn't do anything with it.

The best of it is, Turner isnt and never will be a patch on shenton

I'm not sure at saints fan hates shenton, unfortunately he simply has lived up to people's expectations, and I don't believe anyone has suggested that is down lo lack of effort or heart. People will be happy if he moves on and costs saints nothing, from a balance sheet point of view and not an anti shenton point of view. As a person he seems to be a decent intelligent bloke, and I hope he can move on and rediscover his form, I can't imagine anyone booing him. |
