I've tried to dispel, rather than perpetuate, the rumour by quoting the official club line at the time, but it seems you're having some difficulty with that. Apparently, it's quoted on redvee now that the club have confirmed there's nothing in it, so it really is good news.

If I wanted to perpetuate it, I could have posted something about this on the Wigan forum.

A gracious apology wouldn't go amiss now that you are satisfied that the 'official' position confirms that no such incident occured i.e. the official position which eventually caught up with truth. It didn't stop some vile comments on redvee which most people would be assamed of.

So will the OP now come back and apologise?
