| Quote feilds of knowsleyRD="feilds of knowsleyRD"other than being a club legend why would we want him? other than coach QLD a team miles better the NSW what exp does he have?
we need a seasoned coach the team needs building up again in terms of personal and someone who has been around a while IMO would do a better job'"
Let me ask you a question: What coaching experience did the following have prior to taking over at Saints?...
1) Shaun McRae
=#FFFFFFBegan his coaching career as assistant at Canberra Raiders in the early 1990s. Appointed Head Coach with Saints in 1996
2) Ellery Hanley
=#FFFFFFAppointed coach of the Great Britain team during the Ashes series of 1994. Appointed Head Coach at Saints in 1999
3) Ian Millward
=#FFFFFFTook up a position with Illawarra Western Suburbs after retiring through injury in 1983. Had spells with Wollongong University & as an assistant coach with the Steelers. His 1st senior appointment came at Leigh in 1998 in the 3rd tier of the game. Moved to Saints in March 2000
4) Mick Potter
=#FFFFFFStarted as assistant coach at Bradford from 1996-1999. Took over coaching position for the New South Wales Under-17s. Coached St. George Illawarra's Premier League side (Not NRL side) for 4 years. Appointed Head Coach at Catalans in February 2006, joined Saints in 2009.
Daniel Anderson was probably the most successful pre-Saints reaching 2 Grand Finals, though Royce probably had the most experience in terms of time-served as first grade coach.

| Quote Allez="Allez"Yep that's my fear with him to really although if he is prepared to commit then I think he'd shake us up a bit as he looks like he has a bit of 'dog' in him.. I think people need to forget Meninga and Anderson - it's just fantasy stuff and there's no way either of them are coming.
Here's 2 other names to consider:
1. Shane Flanagan - currently head coach at Cronulla but OOC at the end of this year. There were BIG noises that he was the guy McManus wanted before we appointed Royce but he was offered and accepted the head coach job at the Sharks instead.
2. Justin Morgan - just a hunch and on this one i have no whispers but he was always pretty highly regarded whilst at Hull KR. Nobody seems to be shouting about him which means he may be a dark horse.
I, like others, also wonder if Eamonn will take a punt on Brian Noble. Not sure how I'd feel about that.
Of the above my preference would definitely be to hang on in there until Brown is available if that's the best option we have.'"
I posted in the rumour thread this morning that I'd heard a whisper that Morgan is linked to the job.
I think DA would come back but only until the end of the season.

I think Jason taylor is still without a job. I always liked him and I know saints spoke to him when looking to replace potter.

| I reckon that it's Nathan Browns job to turn down
He's been gonna go home for a while now, but there's not that many vacant top coaching jobs going in world RL is there?
Would Nathan Brown take the job at Saints at the end of the season if offered it?
Too right he would, I reckon it's a done deal

| Just had a look on Redvee, seams someone is under the impression we have our man, hence the media blackout.
But rumours are rife at the moment

He may do but I think the worry is what we do in the meantime given that Mike Rush openly wants the role on a temporary basis. As Brown is unavailable does that rule him out?

| I'm surprised Dave Fairleigh has not been mentioned.
