Just listening, sounds like things may have become heated off mike between Alan Roney and the Wigan bigot.
Listened last Thursday night when he "bigged up" Wigan.
Talk about backtracking!!!
He is the typical Wiganer.

We do have a few embarrassing fans it seems.

Every team has if we're being fair but this guy does you no favours whatsoever - he's cringeable every week on the radio. He was a whopper last night.

But he's no worse than Allan Rooney, although that doesn't make it right.

Give over - you're sounding like him already.

I am no fan of Alan Rooney on a professional level let's be clear about that. In him and Ray French we have 2 anachronisms in terms of commentating on the modern game and in that respect they do us no favours at all. What I will say about Alan is that he's as straight as a die and calls it how he sees it. If Saints get beat or play badly that's what he says. No arguments.

Ted Oliver is the exact opposite and how you can compare his inane, defensive and believist ramblings to the standards proffered by ANY of the other BBC Merseyside RL panellists is laughable. He turns every question he's asked into an answer about Wigan within 10 seconds - you could ask him about the technicalities of a lunar landing and he'd mention Michael Maguire. He's actually the type of Wigan fan that discredits Wigan fans and further promotes the view that you are all a myopic lot (although there are some notable exceptions IMHO....)

I'd say on a par with Rogues, now, that does sound right
