Yes. Using that terminology (it was actually 'natural gift', but it doesn't matter) doesn't change the context of the sentence in bold, in fact it reinforces it.
Whilst we are being all condescending about it, you were relating the genetic predisposition (natural gift, talent, etc) of a four year old child through his ability to throw a a paintball during your reception class to the fact that he could 'go on to make it' (your words) at a sport in which such motor skills might be in some way related. I'm glad that the children had a great time, and that you felt a level of satisfaction when you informed your superior of this, but anyone with an ounce of knowledge on the subject or even half a brain could gather that it is absolute nonsense.
Maybe you have the natural talent to be a politician in your willingness to try and bend what you originally said. Did you have this at four, or did it develop later?
