I feel really sorry for Shenton, gets no ball and when he does, it's from a hospital pass.

Hope he isn't out for too long, as we would really miss him......

You are right he has got no service whatsoever. The only chance he gets with the ball is jumping into dummy half on an exit set.

He has just been asked to tackle.

If that is the way saints want to play then they may as well play Falnnery at centre and have done with it.

Nope, I don't think he's struggling. I think we have some daft fans looking for scapegoats for a loss though! Shenton has hardly had any service since coming to Saints. With losing our halfbacks for the season we have had inexperience there and they can only pass to their left. Gaskell has tended to kick to the right, so Shenton does see action occasionally. But for the most part he's left to freeze his nuts off unless he comes looking for work, which he does. I've no complaints about him.

Yeh the left passing does make us a tad predictable. Something for Lomax and Gaskell to work on in the off season.

Shenton is probably just really bored.

I would probably change the word struggling for frustrated. This season I can,t recall any game where he has received Quality Ball, there dos,nt seem to be any set plays involving Shenton either. Most of this can be all down to our season long half back disruption.
I,m sure when saints start to fire on all cylinders (!!!!!) we will see Shenton's quality come through. If we are lucky, we might see some combinations with Pyrce and Shenton, but I'm not holding my breath.

For me at the moment he really seems to be getting the basics wrong though, quality players do not need quality service. I was really hoping Wigan would sign him from Cas but from what I have seen thus far more than happy we have not.
