You keep asking the same question. People are basing it on the fact that he has been beyond rubbish - he has put absolutely no effort in whatsoever in the games he has played. Therefore, he shouldn't be playing.

Not necessary if the misconduct is so serious as could constitute gross misconduct - then (having followed the correct procedure of course) an employee can be dismissed despite having an otherwise blot-free copybook.
The finding of serious misconduct suggests that Saints are boxing clever on this, I'd guess he's been given the equilvalent of a final warning (as an alternative to dismissal) and any further evidence of similar behaviour will see him gone, with the club then having a much stronger case at the inevitable tribunal as they'll be able to demonstrate it was made absolutely clear to him (via formal disciplinary action) what behaviour they expected from him before taking the ultimate sanction of dismissal.
