According to Stevo, probably the MOST Saints-biased commentator EVER, it wasn't on the floor. I think it could have gone either way, but when someone as biased as he says it isn't and the decision's correct, then it must be so.
Ironically, did you see the reverse of the decision in the Bradford game? I'm SURE a Bradford player was tackled and the ball grounded in the in-goal area, but no drop-out was given at all.
Quote: SaintsFan "It appeared that Eastmond was deliberately tripped immediately following his chip, which lead to him being unbalanced and led to the knock on. Not saying this justifies the knock on being missed but the trip also went unseen by the officials.'"
Not having access to a replay, I'll take your word for it.
I think, at the end of the day, both sets of fans are (fairly) happy with the result. Saints fans for salvaging a point after being dominated for 65 minutes, Wigan fans that we didn't lose BOTH points.
With both teams being under full strength, it'll be great to see how a match would pan out when they are back to their best. Both showed what they're capable of when firing well.
