Through my experience working in London for the last 5 years the vast majority of people I come across haven't the foggiest where St Helens is or what it's like, so I can't see dropping the name St Helens from the clubs title is going to make a blind bit of difference to our appeal to sponsors. Misleading them into thinking the club isn't from an industrial Northern town surely isn't the way to go. If the reason for the name change is due to some sort of misplaced embarrassment about the town it is totally unacceptable. St Helens has a great deal to be proud of.

I will try my best to find an official date for you but IIRC I seem to remember end of January / beginning of February being mentioned just before the season starts.
