Probable Team for Wire will be

Wellens
Gardner
Gidley
Soliola
Meli
Wilkin
Eastmond
Graham
Cunningham (capt)
Hargreaves
Puletua
Flannery
Roby

Bench

Moore
Clough
Emmitt
Fa'asavalu

I have it from a good source that we have lost Lomax for the season and thats a terrific blow as the kid has been outstanding all year and has come on leaps and bounds. The same source has also revealed that Maurie Fa'asavalu is fit to return this weekend. Hopefully Maurie can hit the ground running and make some impact of the bench if selected. Jon Wilkin has had an up and down run at Stand Off but has produced some great perfomances of the last couple of years playing in that role most notably at Wigan (A) and Leeds (A) in the Challenge Cup last year. This season hasnt been so great for him when asked to play 6 but given the magnitude of the game I sense Wilkin could have a huge game there this weekend.

We have been hit by injuries this year and have been quite outstanding in overcoming them and with the Knowsley Road Crowd getting behind the lads for one of the last couple of occasions we will play at the famous old ground Im backing us to win. I geniunley do feel we have a team that can be crowned Champions on the 2nd of October and that would be a fitting tribute for Keiron Cunningham to lift the trophy on his final apperance.

I have been highly critical of Mick Potter this season and last but having assesed our performances in the league this season he has done a great job. I now urge all coaching staff, players and supporters to give it there all for the final few weeks of the season. I believe we are going to see a great end to 2010.

Be a bit harsh on Foster if he's dropped, especially as he seems to be a very good goalkicker - something you've had over Wire regularly just recently.

IF Lomax AND Eastmond play I'd be okay to watch through my fingers. If they are both out, I'm going to hide in the toilet all game.

If Eastmond is fit enough to play, which i don't think he will be, then this is the team i'd go for. Its good enough to win the game, IMO.

Saints seem to have the ability to carry on in the same style regardless of who is in or out. or at least against us they do.

I would like to see a fully fit saints team and for us to beat a fully fit saints team as that is a measure of how far we have come ( or not)

The two things that for me are certain

1. Cunningham will have a cracker (always does against us)
2. It will be a thriller

IMO saints have done remarkably this year with the horrendous run of injuries you have had

here's to a classic
