| I thought he did pretty well to be honest, i was quite impressed with him. He also showed a bit of pace to catch Lomax, he'll do well with us.

I think 'pedestrian' is a slight exaggeration! Lomax went limping off towards the end of the match and has significant strapping on his thigh. Lomax can run faster than that although he is more of a sprinter than a long haul runner.
I thought Shenton did alright. It was nice to see a player without an ounce of spare fat on him. Our lot have all developed bellies this season. However, I can't say I was watching Shenton too closely because I was trying not to get too frustrated with Saints!

| Gleeson-esque signing. Alot of similarities when Glees came from Huddsfield. Shenton has more pace but can step off either foot from a standing start. Defensively he's very good from what Ive seen for both Cas and England.
He'll only get better in a stronger side and will improve further when he develops physically and fills out.

| fast speedy player who has great potential. having said that lomax ran
in to him at one point and stuck him on his backside. good coaching will
iron out those bits. atkins, shenton in a couple of years time would be
a great combe.

| Over-rated, which is what i said a few months ago when he was originally 'linked'.
Definitely not worth the figures branded about in relation to his salary.
Hope he has an awesome time in the Redvee and plays brilliantly, but i'd have preferred us to sign Chris Bridge or Tom Briscoe.

| It's hard to judge him on that one game. Maybe it all got to him, his last game for his home town club, playing against his team to be, the last league game at saints etc.
Maybe it just got to him.
After all, he played very well most times I've seen him, he was very good for England in 4 nations before getting injured.

| Shenton was a class above Gidley tonight. Gidley is past his sell by date by a good season or 2. I thought Shenton looked very classy at times last night and i'm over the moon we've signed him.

| He didn't really look anything special at the game last night. He appears a bit too light, might benefit from another 5kg of muscle. Think we need to give him half a season to settle in proper, so I,m not expecting anything spectacular from him for the first couple of games in the 2011 season.
He will develop into a better player at Saints, think the fans should give him a bit of time to reach his potential.

| I thought he played well. He defended strongly, took his try well and showed exceptional pace.
